It’s Sunday, so we have baseball kicking off in the AM across the country as the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Angels throw the first pitch of the day at 11:35 am ET, so that presents us with plenty of options for today’s MLB PrizePicks plays of the day.

Two of our early favorites are James Wood of the Washington Nationals and Merrill Kelly of the Arizona Diamondbacks.. With how much baseball there is today, there are numerous opportunities to discover the perfect selections!

James Wood PrizePicks MLB Pick: More Than 7.0 Hitter Fantasy Score

The first two starts of Jack Kochanowicz’s big league career have not gone well as he’s been shelled in each of them. He faces a Nationals offense that has been OK at best but has been getting better day by day, including their rookie sensation James Wood. Over the last month, Wood has a .860 OPS, .200 ISO, and .372 wOBA against righties. He’s having a big start to August, too, hitting .344 with a 1.120 OPS and .344 ISO. He’s also swiped four bases in nine games, so his dual-threat ability is on FULL display, and considering we need just seven fantasy points, I’m very confident he’ll nuke this number.

  • Pick: More Than 7 Hitter Fantasy Score

Merrill Kelly PrizePicks MLB Pick: Less Than 4.5 Pitcher Strikeouts

There are multiple things are play here, but nothing is more important than the fact that Merrill Kelly last pitched at the major league back on April 15th. In his latest rehab appearance, he was able to toss 62 pitches and that was at High-A. He likely gets extended beyond that, but how sharp will he be against the Philadelphia Phillies in his return? Kelly has never been a big strikeout artist anyways, as he posted a 7.6 K/9 in his first four starts this year and his career mark is 8.15. I like Kelly the pitcher and he’s even catching the Phillies at the right time considering their recent struggles, but the lack of depth he’ll provide today is the primary factor into fading his strikeouts.

  • Pick: More Than 9.5 Fantasy Score
