Sam Bradford threw seven passes last week over 20 yards in the air. He didn’t complete one of them.
Tom Brady leads the NFL with 133 passes without a pick. Aaron Rodgers is second with 123 passes without a pick. Andrew Luck has thrown seven picks on 116 passes.
Drew Brees threw for 359 passing yards last week and 236 of those yards were racked up after the catch. On pass plays in Week 4 in which he was pressured with four or fewer pass rushers, well, let’s just say he was like a lightsaber cutting through butter. Brees was 30-for-31 for 323 yards and two scores.
Teddy Bridgewater was pressured on 19 of his 50 drop backs last week. The Vikings kept an extra blocker in on 34 of those plays.
Jamaal Charles, Matt Forte and Chris Ivory all have 11 runs of 10 yards, the most in football. Carlos Hyde and Doug Martin have 10 such runs.
Jay Cutler was pretty solid on passes that were in the air for at least 10 yards. That’s what we call it when a guy complete 24-of-29 passes.
Andy Dalton has been accurate on 60 percent of the passes he’s thrown at least 20 yards in the air, the second-best mark in football. Dalton also leads the NFL with 15 deep balls traveling more than 25 yards. The next closest men are Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith who have completed 11 such passes.
Ted Ginn Jr. and Leonard Hankerson lead the NFL with five drops. Julian Edelman has four.
Rob Gronkowski is the only tight end in football with at least 225 yards and three scores. He leads in yards (308) and touchdowns (four).
Todd Gurley ran for 146 yards last week, the most by a Rams back since Steven Jackson had 159 rushing yards against the Saints in 2011.
Leonard Hankerson has been targeted on third down 16 times this season. All that has happened on those 16 chances is Leonard has caught 11 passes for 164 yards, two scores and 10 first downs.
DeAndre Hopkins (29) and Allen Robinson (24) are the only men in football who have seen more than 20 passes thrown their way that that they weren’t able to haul in.
Mark Ingram leads all players with 237 yards after the catch. Danny Woodhead is the only other player over 200 yards at 222. The top wideout in football is Julio Jones at 180.
Chris Ivory ran for 166 yards in Week 4. He produced 110 of those yards after contact. Ivory broke nine tackles in the process. Le’Veon Bell was just behind with 97 of his 129 yards after contact last week. He also forced a career-best 10 missed tackles.
Colin Kaepernick leads all players in football, who have appeared in four games, with a 5.9 YPC mark. Amongst running backs the leader is Gio Bernard at 5.50.
Jarvis Landry isn’t a big touchdown threat, so he has to make the most of his chances. He continues to excel in the return game but he dropped two passes last week and three the last two games.
Eli Manning threw the rock for 212 yards last week, though a mere 88 of those yards came in the air as his pass catchers did a ton with the rock in their hands. He got the ball out of his hands quickly to avoid the Bills rush.
Ryan Mallett continues to struggle, and those issues are easily seen on short passes. Last week he completed just five of 13 passes on throws that were in the air for less than 10 yards.
Josh McCown completed 11-of-15 passes for 146 yards and a score when he was blitzed last week. That’s nutso good.
Luke McCown leads the NFL with an 81.3 percent completion rate on passes in “close” games. He’s only thrown six incompletions on 32 such passes.
Cam Newton only completed one of six pass attempts outside the numbers in Week 4. Blame a suspect wide receiving corps.
Jordan Reed is hurt, but he leads tight ends with 18 first downs.
Philip Rivers threw three passes that were in the air for at least 20 yards in Week 4. He completed two of them for 47 yards and two scores. Rivers has also benefited from the most yards after the catch of any quarterback in football with 771 yards, 60 more than Alex Smith.
Philip Rivers threw for 358 yards, three scores and no interceptions in Week 4. That was the 40th time in his career in which he threw for three scores without being picked off.
Allen Robinson and Julio Jones are tied for the NFL lead with six receptions of at least 25 yards.
Aaron Rodgers leads the way with a 132.2 QB Rating out of the shotgun. Andy Dalton is second at 126.7.
Ryan Tannehill still can’t get the ball down field. Last week he was 1-for-7 with one pick on throws more than 20 yards down field.
Six men have caught five passes inside the 20-yard line to lead the NFL: Randall Cobb, Larry Fitzgerald, DeAndre Hopkins, Jarvis Landry, Heath Miller and Greg Olsen. Two of those guys have caught four passes inside the 10-yard line: Cobb and Fitzgerald.
Jameis Winston threw four picks in Week 4 (it could have been more). Aaron Rodgers (zero) Andy Dalton (one), Tom Brady (zero) and Carson Palmer (three) have thrown a combined four picks this season.
Michael Vick struggled, failing to throw for 125 yards in Week 4. He was also only 6-for-10 for 38 yards on “short” passes.
Jameis Winston threw four picks last week. Since the start of the 2014 season Aaron Rodgers has thrown five interceptions. He’s also tossed 49 touchdowns.
