Shaun Hill, QB (DET)--The fear that Matthew Stafford may be out this weekend with an injury has made Hill a hot pickup this week. After replacing Stafford in Sundayâs loss to the Titans, Hill threw for two touchdowns on 10-for-13 passing and 172 yards. The Lions have an explosive passing game and even though Hill doesnât possess the skills of Stafford, he could still be a solid plug-in if he was needed to start this week. I am not by any means suggesting to drop a starting quarterback for Hill, but if you are a Stafford owner and want to capitalize on the high octane offense, then I suggest you pick up Hill to continue reaping the benefits of the Lions offense. Kevin Kolb, QB (ARI)--Kolb had a solid game on Sunday going 17-for-24 with 222 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Eagles solidifying him as the starting quarterback even with John Skelton returns from injury. What is even more impressive is that Kolb has yet to throw an interception this season on 59 passing attempts through the teamâs first three games. While I donât think he is a starter in standard leagues, but in two-quarterback leagues he has now made himself someone to consider. If you are a Sam Bradford or Blaine Gabbert owner, Kolb may be someone you want to pickup to use as a backup or second-quarterback depending on your league format. Tashard Choice, RB (BUF)--This may be only for one week, but Choice is a solid pickup in the short term. Teammate C.J. Spiller injured his left shoulder on Sunday joining already injured Fred Jackson making Choice the likely starter for Week 4. After taking over for Spiller, Choice ran for 91 yards on 20 attempts finishing with 4.6 yards per carry and looked good running between the tackles. Neither Jackson nor Spiller have officially been ruled out for Sundayâs game against the Patriots, but it is highly unlikely that both will be active with both targeting a return in Week 5. It would be wise to pick up Choice if you are an owner of either Jackson or Spiller since both have shown the inability to stay healthy. Daniel Thomas, RB (MIA)--After missing Week 2 with a concussion, Thomas returned on Sunday and was a major contributor in the Dolphins offense after Reggie Bush exited with a leg injury. He finished the day with 19 rushes for 69 yards and a touchdown against a stout Jets defense. It is unclear how long Bush will be out of action, but until he returns Thomas is a solid play in an offense that is searching for an identity. The Dolphins used a second-round pick on Thomas in 2011, but failed to live up to his expectations with the breakout season of Bush last year. Thomas was likely drafted in most leagues, but may have been dropped after recording just three carries through the first two weeks. If he is available on the waiver-wire be sure to grab him if you are either a Bush owner or you are in need of running back depth. Julian Edelman, WR (NE)--The Patriots have plenty of mouths to feed in their passing game, but somehow Edelman has been involved despite being the fifth-best option downfield. Quarterback Tom Brady has started to build a connection with Edelman, and once that is established, the sky is the limit. The writing is on the wall that the Patriots donât want to pay Wes Welker what he deserves and they are molding Edelman to be the replacement for Welker. Through the first three games of the season Edelman has recorded 10 catches and a touchdown, but is also involved in the Patriots special teams. He is getting involved in the offense more-and-more each week and by seasonâs end he could be a must-start, but for now he is worth picking up for wide receiver depth.T.Y. Hilton, WR (IND)--The Colts got a steal in the draft this season when they drafted Hilton at the end of the third-round and now are starting to reap the benefits. In his first game with extended action Hilton finished with four catches for 113 yards and a touchdown while also being used in both punt and kickoff returns. With Austin Collie out for the season Hilton should see a lot of action in the Colts passing game and could give Donnie Avery a run for his money as the teamâs No. 2 wide receiver. Those of you in dynasty leagues probably had Hilton on your radar, but now is the time to go out and pick him up before he build on his Week 3 breakout game.  Ramses Barden, WR (NYG)--In the absence of Hakeem Nicks on Thursday night Barden exploded onto the scene in the Giants passing game. He finished the game with nine receptions for 138 yards after having just one catch in the previous two games combined. Nicks is expected back for Week 4 against the Eagles, but I expect Barden to get action as the teamâs No. 3 wide receiver. Barden may give the Giants the receiver they need opposite Nicks to free up Victor Cruz to be able to play inside, where he thrived last season. We donât know for sure how he will be utilized in the offense with Nicks healthy, but we all know Nicks has a hard time staying off of the injury report each week. So if you are in need of wide receiver depth Barden is a solid pickup this week.  Jared Cook, TE (TEN)--The Titans may not win a lot of games this season, but their one bright spot is their passing game. Through the first three weeks of the season Cook has hauled in 11 catches for 164 yards and showed his versatility with a 61-yard touchdown in a win over the Lions in Week 3. Cook was likely drafted this season in most leagues, but may have been dropped after a dismal Week 2 performance, but if he is available he is a solid pickup this week. He is one of the most underrated tight ends in the NFL and if he continues to build a connection with quarterback Jake Locker, he could become a top 10 fantasy tight end by seasonâs end.
