Week 4 Injury Report
Quarterbacks
Brandon Weeden (CLE)--The Browns will be without their starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Bengals after Weeden suffered a right thumb injury in a loss to the Ravens in Week 2. The good news is that the injury will not require surgery, so he will be back under center sooner than later.
Blaine Gabbert (JAC)--After missing the last two weeks with a right hand injury, the Jaguars will have Gabbert back under center for Sunday's game against the Colts. Gabbert has been a full participant in practice this week, and will likely be listed as probable on the team's official injury report.
Christian Ponder (MIN)--After being a limited participant in practice this week, the Vikings will likely list Ponder as questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers. Ponder is dealing with a rib injury sustained in Week 3 and considering the rough start to the season, maybe a week off would be best for him.
Terrelle Pryor (OAK)--Although Pryor was a limited participant in practice it is being reported that the Raiders will likely be without his services on Sunday after suffering a concussion on Monday night. Pryor will need to pass all the required tests before being able to return to the field, but his absence appears like it will be a short one.
Running Backs
Reggie Bush (DET)--The Lions expect to have Bush back in on the playing field on Sunday after being a full participant in practice on Thursday. Bush missed last week's game with a knee injury, but appears to have put all the side effects aside and will likely be listed as probable on the team's official injury report on Friday.
Steven Jackson (ATL)--The Falcons will be without their starting running back for the second consecutive week after Jackson sustained a thigh injury in Week 2. He is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks with the injury, but the team remains optimistic that he will be back before the end of the given time frame.
Ray Rice (BAL)--As expected, Rice was limited on the practice field on Thursday as he continues to deal with a hip flexor he sustained in Week 2. The Ravens coaching staff has already made it clear that Rice does not have to practice in full in order to play on Sunday, making him a questionable for Week 4.
C.J. Spiller (BUF)--The Bills expect to have their top running back on the field on Sunday after he was a full participant in practice on Thursday. Spiller is dealing with a quadriceps injury, but it is not serious enough to force him out of action this week and beyond, although his touched may be decreased in a effort to keep him healthy moving forward.
Rashard Mendenhall (ARI)--After being a full participant in practice on Thursday, the Cardinals will likely list Mendenhall as probable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. Mendenhall is dealing with a minor toe injury that limited him last week, but it appears he is close to being back at 100 percent for Week 4.
Ahmad Bradshaw (IND)--Despite missing practice on Thursday, the Colts expect to have Bradshaw in the backfield on Sunday when they take on the Jaguars. Bradshaw is dealing with a minor neck injury and has a history of not practicing during the week and then playing on Sunday, so fantasy owners should not be alarmed by this news.
Maurice Jones-Drew (JAC)--As the week progresses, it appears more and more likely that Jones-Drew will be on the field for Sunday's game against the Colts. Jones-Drew is dealing with an ankle injury and has been a limited participant in practice this week, but we will know more once the team releases their official injury report.
Brandon Bolden (NE)--After a breakout performance on Week 3, the Patriots are uncertain if Bolden will be able to suit up for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Bolden has been limited in practice this week with a knee injury, and if he doesn't pick up the pace on Friday, his status is in serious doubt for Week 4 against the Falcons.
Chris Ivory (NYJ)--The Jets will likely be without the services of Ivory on Sunday after he suffered a hamstring injury in last week's win over the Bills. Considering the emergence of Bilal Powell, there is really no reason for the Jets to rush Ivory back into the backfield, so expect him to be listed as questionable for Week 4.
Le'Veon Bell (PIT)--The Steelers remain optimistic that they will have their rookie running back in backfield following their Week 4 bye week. Bell has increased his level of activity in practice which is very encouraging, as he continues to battle back form a foot injury sustained during training camp.
Wide Receivers
Julio Jones (ATL)--Despite being a limited participant in practice on Thursday, the Falcons expect to have their top wide receiver on the field when they take on the Patriots on Sunday. The lack on practice reps is starting to become a norm for Jones, as we saw last week, so fantasy owners should not worry about his availability, as the Falcons appear to be limiting him in practice as a precaution rather than for injury concerns.
Larry Fitzgerald (ARI)--The Cardinals will likely list Fitzgerald as probable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers after being a full participant in practice on Thursday. Fitzgerald has been dealing with a hamstring injury for a few weeks now, but is not expected to be limited by the injury any longer.
Miles Austin (DAL)--The Cowboys are uncertain if they will have Austin on the field on Sunday, considering he has yet practice this week due to a hamstring injury. Austin has been fighting hamstring injuries for the last few years now, so as we have already seen, it may take a while for him to recover from this most recent condition.
Andre Johnson (HOU)--The Texans will likely list Johnson as questionable when they release the official injury report on Friday after he was limited in practice on Thursday. Johnson is dealing with a minor shin injury sustained in Week 3, but it does not appear to be serious enough for him to miss any time.
Santonio Holmes (NYJ)--The Jets are unsure if they will have Holmes on the field on Sunday after missing practice yet again on Thursday. Holmes is dealing with a foot injury that has limited him since last season so his availability for Sunday will be determined on whether or not he can deal with the pain, considering this is an ongoing injury.
Malcolm Floyd (SD)--The Chargers do not expect to have Floyd on the field on Sunday following his Week 2 neck injury that required him to exit the game on a stretcher. Floyd has taken strides in the right direction, so a return in the next week or two is more likely than this Sunday.
Danny Amendola (NE)--After missing the last two weeks with a groin injury, it is unclear as to whether or not he will be able to play in Sunday's game against the Falcons. Amendola has been a limited participant in practice this week, leaving a chance he returns to the field in Week 4, although it may be in limited duties.
Roddy White (ATL)--The Falcons listed White as a limited participant in practice on Thursday due to an ankle injury, but is expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Patriots. White has been a major disappointment thus far in 2013, but to his defense, he has yet to play at 100 percent through the first three weeks.
Jacoby Jones (BAL)--The Ravens expect Jones to be out 4-6 weeks with a sprained MCL in his right knee, which he injured during the season opener against the Broncos. Barring any setbacks, a return by the end of October is likely what the Ravens are shooting for with Jones, but in terms of fantasy, he really isn't worth holding onto at this point.
Mike Williams (TB)--After missing practice on Thursday, his status for Week 4 is up in the air as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. Williams has underachieved thus far in 2013, but with Mike Glennon taking over the quarterback duties from Josh Freeman, there hope he can bounce back as long as he is on the field.
Vincent Jackson (TB)--The Buccaneers will likely consider Jackson questionable for Week 4 against the Cardinals after missing practice on Thursday with a rib injury. If he does not suit up for practice on Friday, there is a good chance he will be ruled out, but that will not be determined until after the team releases their official injury report.
Tight Ends
Rob Gronkowski (NE)--The Patriots will have a tough call to make regarding the status of Gronkowski for Week 4, after he remained limited in practice on Thursday. Gronkowski has yet to suit up for a game this season, but has been making progress over the last few weeks, and the Patriots need him now more than ever for Sunday's showdown with the Falcons.
Kellen Winslow (NYJ)--After being a limited participant in practice on Thursday, the Jets will likely list Winslow as questionable for Sunday's game as he continues to deal with a knee injury. Winslow was a surprise in Week 1, but failed to produce the last two weeks, so even if healthy he is a risky play outside of deep leagues.
Fred Davis (WAS)--After missing last week's game with an ankle injury, the Redskins remain optimistic that he will be able to return for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Davis has underachieved through the first few weeks of the season, but still has a chance to turn things around once he gets back on the field.
