James Starks, RB (GB)--The Packers are not known for their running game, but Sunday James Starks provided a spark out of the backfield that could lead to a more balanced offensive attack. Despite being the backup to Alex Green entering the game Starks was given more carries than Green and was more productive as well. On Sunday, Starks was given 17 carries which resulted in 61 yards in a win over the Cardinals. He has failed to live up to his expectations over the last few years due to his inability to stay healthy, but this time around may be a different case. The Packers will likely be without Cedric Benson for the remainder of the season and considering how poor Green has looked, Starks should continue to get the bulk of the carries moving forward. The offense will have an extra week to figure out just how they want to use both Green and Starks in the offensive attack, but if I had to guess it is now Starksâ job as long as he stays healthy.Marcel Reece, RB (OAK)--With both Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson suffering from high ankle sprains the door has opened for Marcel Reece to get snaps with the first team if both players are unable to go this weekend against the Ravens. Reece was very productive on Sunday after both backs when down, finishing the game with eight receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown proving he can be an asset in fantasy circles. The Raiders ran the ball just 11 times in Week after being down early in the contest, but the offense is a pass-heavy attack so his ability to be a good pass-catcher out of the backfield makes him worth targeting this week on the waiver-wire. If both McFadden and Goodson are active in Week 10 Reeceâs value will plummet at a rapid pace, but if you are looking for an injury fill-in and think either one of the backs wonât play, he is worth adding in all league formats.
Beanie Wells, RB (ARI)--It may be a little early, but Beanie Wells is slated to return to practice this week, making him someone to target on the waiver-wire. He canât return to action until November 25 due to the NFLâs new Injury-Reserve rules, but he should see immediate playing time once activated. The Cardinals rushing game has had its fair share of struggles this season with both Wells and Ryan Williams missing time due to injuries, but with any luck maybe Wells would be able to give the team the spark needed to take some pressure off of John Skelton or Kevin Kolb. If you have a roster spot to waste it would be wise to pickup Wells to add running back depth before the mad rush hits in a few weeks. He should be added in all league formats 10-teams or more.Chris Ivory, RB (NO)--With Darren Sproles out with a hand injury Chris Ivory was given a chance to produce out of the Saints backfield for the first time this season and outperformed both Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram when given the chance. On Monday, Ivory was given 10 carries and was able to find the end zone after a 22-yard run making him an interesting pickup for the upcoming week. Both Ingram and Thomas also factor into the Saints run game, but as long as Sproles is out Ivory should continue to be given a decent amount of playing time in his absence. Ivory has shown his play-making abilities in the past, but wasnât given the opportunity to make him a long term fixture in the Saints offense because of his injury history. Considering the upcoming Saints schedule, there are a few games in which Ivoryâs skill set matches up great against, so he is worth adding to be used as a fill-in. The Saints have shown they arenât sure just how to use their running backs, so he is definitely not a player to pickup in the hopes of becoming the No. 1 running back out of the backfield, but could be a spark in certain situations.Golden Tate, WR (SEA)--The Seahawks passing game isnât no to talk about, but Golden Tate caught the eye of fantasy players after his second two-touchdown performance of the season in Sundayâs win over the Vikings. He has been inconsistent for most of the season, but is now sitting on five touchdowns which leads the teamâs receiving core. Over the last two weeks Tate has hauled in 11 receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns and has caught the eye of rookie quarterback Russell Wilson more-and-more as the weeks go on. While I donât think Tate is the type of player you want to start every week, he is worth adding if you need depth at the wide receiver position. Every time we think that Tate is going to disappear in the Seahawks offense he finds a way to reappear, so maybe this time it will be for good, so give him a look if needed.T.Y. Hilton, WR (IND)--This is the second time T.Y. Hilton had made it onto my waiver-wire column in the hopes that the second time is the charm. Considering the recent injury to Donnie Avery, Hilton has the chance to move into the WR No. 2 slot in the Colts passing game making him a solid pickup for this week. Avery went down with a hip injury in the second half of Sundayâs win over the Dolphins which opened the door for Hilton to step up his game showing off his play-making abilities. Hilton finished with six catches on 11 targets on Sunday for 102 yards and a touchdown. This was Hiltonâs best game of the season by far and has the chance to repeat his performance if Avery is out for an extended period of time. The Colts will be playing on a short week in Week 10 against the Jaguars on Thursday night, so there is a good chance that Avery will be inactive, so if you need some immediate help with the chance of it becoming long term, Hilton is your guy.Emmanuel Sanders, WR (PIT)--Despite catching just two passes in Sundayâs win over the Giants, Emmanuel Sandersâ value has increased following the injury to Antonio Brown. Brown suffered an ankle injury early in last weekâs game and will likely be out in Week 10 when the Steelers take on the Chiefs on Monday night. The Steelers offense runs through the arm of Ben Roethlisberger, so if in fact Brown is out Sanders value will be the highest it has ever been. While his fantasy value may only be short-term, he still has the chance to help fantasy owners, especially for Brown owners. The fact that Big Ben targeted him in the red zone makes adding Sanders even better since he has the trust of his quarterback, so if needed Sanders is a solid buy this week.Brandon Myers, TE (OAK)--Many fantasy owners may not have known anything about Brandon Myers entering the season, but since Week 1 Myers has been producing at a high level in the Raidersâ offense making it impossible to ignore him now. In Week 9 Myers finished with eight receptions for 59 yards and two touchdowns making him one of the most productive tight ends in all of football following that performance. The Raiders offense has become a pass heavy attack lead by Carson Palmer, and outside of Denarius Moore, Myers has become his favorite target. Even when the matchups arenât the best, Palmer finds a way to get the ball to Myers which makes him a must-add for those in need of help at tight end. Even if you are a Jermichael Finley owner, it may be time to consider adding Myers and forgetting about Finley along with a few other big-name tight ends and look to the unknown amenity.Ryan Tannehill, QB (MIA)--The Dolphins werenât expected to win many games in 2012, but Ryan Tannehill has proven a lot of his doubters wrong and is now sitting on a 4-4 record. This week the Dolphins face off against the Titans who are terrible against the pass so he could be a solid fill-in for those who rely on the arms of Aaron Rodgers and Robert Griffin, who will be on a bye this week. Tannehill is coming off of a solid performance against the Colts finishing with 290 yards on 22-or-38 attempts with a touchdown. This was his second-highest passing yard total of his young career and that could be surpassed this week, so if you are have a case of the bye-week blues, Tannehill may be your cure.
