Houston Astros
We have a full slate of games tonight, but the Astros should be decently popular due to having a great matchup in front of them. They are up against Danny Duffy , who is giving up 2.13 HR/9 to right-handed hitters this season. Whoa. That is a rough stat to look at but it presents plenty of upside for these powerful Houston bats. We all know they are super-hot right now and it really just comes down to what salary you have available, and how many of them you can fit into your lineups. They are expensive on both sites, which should come as no surprise, but with no super expensive pitcher to pay up for, they can make it into your lineups tonight. Here are some hitters to take a look at tonight, Max Stassi .288 ISO. Evan Gattis .254 ISO. Alex Bregman .238 ISO. Jake Marisnick .194 ISO. Carlos Correa .194 ISO.
Chicago Cubs
The Cubs were a bit of a disappointment last night, but it’s time to go right back to the well on this team and load them up tonight. They are facing off against Luis Castillo , who is struggling this season with both types of hitters. This is his stat line vs lefties, .379 wOBA, 2.21 HR/9, 41% fly ball rate, and a 44% hard contact rate. Here are his stats vs righties, .323 wOBA, 1.74 HR/9, 28% fly ball rate, 32% hard contact rate. Really rough stuff from the young Reds’ pitcher, who has given up 16 ER over his last four starts. We have a full slate of games today, with a very juicy Coors Field game, so the Cubs after burning people last night, might go overlooked tonight. If you’re looking for GPP upside, they certainly have plenty of that and with this being in such a great hitter’s park, the home runs should be there tonight. Look to roster, Kyle Schwarber .307 ISO. Ian Happ .257 ISO. Javier Báez .231 ISO. Anthony Rizzo .224 ISO. Kris Bryant .209 ISO. Willson Contreras .181 ISO.
Minnesota Twins
The Twins come in with an implied run total sitting at 4.67 which is ninth highest on this slate. They are facing off against Mike Minor , who has given up three or more earned runs in eight of his last nine starts. The southpaw comes into this game giving up a .362 wOBA to righties along with 1.64 HR/9. He is a bit better vs left-handed hitters, so focus in on the righties tonight. Brian Dozier should be a top option with his .245 ISO. Ehire Adrianza offers some salary relief and comes in with a .180 ISO. Bobby Wilson behind the plate is cheap and has a .143 ISO. Eduardo Escobar should be good to play tonight and has a .126 ISO. I did say shy away from the lefties, but Max Kepler is showing some reverse splits this season and comes in with a .210 ISO, so he is certainly very viable tonight.
