Chicago White Sox
The White Sox come in with an implied run total sitting at 4.7, which is on the higher end for this slate. They are set to face off against what should be a “bullpen” day for the Blue Jays. Right now, John Axford is listed as the starting pitcher for Toronto, but he is a reliever. The Blue Jays bullpen has a 4.28 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP on the year. Regardless of who ends up pitching the rest of the game, the White Sox still offer plenty of savings, specifically on FanDuel, on a slate where we have Coors Field. On FanDuel, there are only two players, José Abreu and Yoan Moncada , who are over $3K. Every other White Sox player is $3K and cheaper. This means you can stack up four players, get them at a cheap price, and still have exposure to a team with a high implied run total. Daniel Palka .261 ISO. José Abreu .226 ISO. Avisail García .203 ISO. Yoan Moncada .203 ISO. Matt Davidson .183 ISO. Yolmer Sánchez .173 ISO.
Houston Astros
The Astros should be one of the top stacks on this slate since they come in with an implied run total sitting at 6.34, which is higher than the teams at Coors Field. They are facing off against Ariel Jurado , who is making his second career MLB start, after being called up from double-A. Jurado pitched 101 innings in the minors this season with a 3.28 ERA. I’m going to side the with Astros hitters ten times out of ten when facing a young pitcher, so load them up tonight, which should prove to be a nice pivot off of the Coors Field game. Evan Gattis is too cheap on FanDuel and comes in with a .206 ISO vs RHP. Alex Bregman .204 ISO. Max Stassi .179 ISO. Marwin González .164 ISO. George Springer .158 ISO. Yuli Gurriel .152 ISO.
Washington Nationals
The Nationals have scored six or more runs in four of their last six games, hopefully heating up to make a final push. They come in with an implied run total of 4.33, which isn’t that high, and likely due to them playing in a solid pitcher’s park. This can mean other DFS players will shy away from rostering them when they can go to the Red Sox, Astros, or Coors Field for higher run potential. But, with all that said, they are up against Trevor Richards , who is giving up a .390 wOBA to righties this season, and a 42% fly ball rate to lefties. He can be home run prone, so we want to pick on him with the power bats from the Nationals, some of which, are decently cheap. Matt Adams .268 ISO. Bryce Harper .252 ISO. Ryan Zimmerman .237 ISO. Juan Soto .228 ISO. Mark Reynolds .214 ISO. Trea Turner .168 ISO.
