Texas Rangers
The Rangers come in with an implied run total set at 5.75, which is second highest on the slate, so we should be expecting plenty of runs for them. They are at home in a fantastic hitter’s park and facing off against Stephen Gonsalves , who will be making his third appearance this season. His sample size is clearly very low, but he has given up eight earned runs in just 6.1 innings pitched. In this spot, we want to rely on the Rangers bats, rather than the potential skill of Gonsalves. The Texas hitters are decently expensive, but we have a full slate of games, so plenty of value to be found across teams. Joey Gallo .292 ISO. Robinson Chirinos .245 ISO. Jurickson Profar .194 ISO. Kansas City Royals
The Royals have an implied run total set at 5.00, which is a bit surprising since they are generally one of the weaker teams in the league. That run total comes from the fact they are facing Andrew Cashner , who is giving up a .353 wOBA to lefties a .346 wOBA to righties and 1.63 HR/9 to lefties this season. Those are some really, really bad numbers and even with this being a bit of a pitcher’s park, the Royals offer enough upside to make them worst the tournament stack tonight. The Royals hitters aren’t too expensive, so you should be able to fit them into your lineups easily and still have money left over for another stack, or a higher priced pitcher. St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals are up against Homer Bailey , who we know is an absolute gas can of a pitcher and we want to stack against him when we can. He is giving up a .387 wOBA to lefties, a .365 wOBA to righties, 2.30 HR/9 to lefties and 1.64 HR/9 to righties. Yikes. Those numbers are among the worst in the league, so time to load up on the Cardinals hitters, who come in with an implied run total set at 5.14, which is fifth highest on the slate.
