DFS Stacks Thursday August 31st
Baltimore Orioles vs. Marco Estrada
Tim Beckham, Manny Machado, Jonathan Schoop, Adam Jones, Chris Davis, Trey Mancini
Estrada has finally seen his peripheral numbers impact his real-life stats, as over the last two seasons he has been getting very lucking in terms of BABIP as well as HR/FB rate despite ranking among the league leaders in fly balls allowed. This season however he has not been so lucky resulting in a 5.04 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. The Orioles have plenty of home run hitters in their lineup and given the fly ball tendencies of Estrada I figure to see a few balls leave the park on Thursday.
Chicago Cubs vs. Sean Newcomb
Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Ian Happ, Ben Zobrist, Rene Rivera, Anthony Rizzo
The Braves young lefty has already faced the Cubs this season which saw him allow five earned runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings. The Cubs righties are the guys to target here as right-handed hitters own an .817 OPS against Newcomb this season. In their first meeting, Javier Baez went 3-for-3 with a home run and would be somebody worth putting in any Cub stacks tonight.
Miami Marlins vs. Ben Lively
Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, J.T. Realmuto, Tyler Moore, Miguel Rojas
Given the run Giancarlo Stanton is on right now, it would make sense to have a Marlins stack tonight as they face Phillies southpaw Ben Lively who has a 5.11 FIP over his nine starts this season. Marlin right-handed hitters are the guys I’m looking at tonight.
