Happy Friday, everyone, and a dangerous Friday at that. After just a four-game slate yesterday, no doubt people are jonesing for some hardcore action today. On top of that, some of the pitching match-ups are ridiculously tasty. That means lots of multi-entry GPP action and the cash games will be quite full. We’ve also got Coors exposure possibilities here so expect a lot of people to take some chances with some of these lower-cost pitching options. Here’s a look at the data and my DFS starting pitcher recommendations for the day.

Jon Lester, CHC – I’m willing to overlook the ass-whupping Lester took from the Giants back in May after watching him give up just six runs over his last 37.2 innings (six starts) while posting a 42:9 K:BB in that span. The Giants are swinging the bats pretty well recently, but they still have just a .314 wOBA vs LHP this year.

Noah Syndergaard, NYM – He faced the Nats during his mini-stumble just before the All Star break, but he is not that pitcher anymore and they aren’t those Nats either. In fact, Syndergaard has allowed just three runs in his last three starts (20.2 IP) and these Nats have posted just a .292 wOBA with a 21.6-percent strikeout rate over their last seven days.

Carlos Carrasco, CLE – This one is a little tricky, so know that there’s more risk involved given the price tag. Carrasco has struggled at home and his numbers after the break have been a little rough. But that eight-inning shutout of the A’s two starts ago gives me hope here against a soft Marlins offense. They’re not striking out a ton, but they posted just a .299 wOBA over the past week and the .117 ISO in that span shows a serious power outage. I like him on Aces the most given that’s where his price is proportionally the lowest.

David Price, BOS – Well if Carrasco can dominate the A’s, surely Price can as well. Oakland has just a .302 wOBA against southpaws this season and over the past week, have posted a .243 wOBA with a 25.5-percent strikeout rate, a .104 ISO and come on… a .286 slugging percentage. He’s my top cash game play today and I’m going to find some sweet-ass bargain bats and try him out in some single-entry GPPs as well.

Julio Urias, LAD – Good evening, ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another installment of Let’s Pick on the Padres. The price tag here is high for a guy who’s gone just six innings in three of his last eight starts, but two of those are his most recent two outings. With the Padres posting a .277 wOBA with a 26.9-percent strikeout rate over this past week, I’ll take the chance of getting at least five innings out of him and, hopefully, the win.

Anthony DeSclafani, CIN – The Cardinals have been one of the top-hitting teams against righties this season and have excelled on the road, but every team goes through its slumps and right now is the time to face them. With a .261 wOBA and a 29.4-percent strikeout rate over the last week, it doesn’t get much colder at the plate.

Jameson Taillon, PIT – While it’s tough to think about using Taillon after he got beaten up by the Brewers in his last outing, it’s about making the necessary adjustments. He tossed two quality starts against them in July and they adjusted during last week’s outing. The move is now Taillon’s and if he does adjust properly, he could really take advantage of a team that is fanning 33.6-percent of the time over the last seven days and has just a .282 wOBA in that span. I’m going to give the youngster my vote of confidence.

Clayton Richard, SD – If you like darts and know Richard, then you know this is one of the biggest darts there is. He’ll have to battle Urias for the win and hope for some decent run support, but coming into today’s game, the Dodgers are ranked dead-last with a .280 wOBA against southpaws and have just a .278 wOBA over the last seven days. In this past week, as well, the Dodgers are posting just a .318 slugging percentage, a .113 ISO and are striking out at a 22.3-percent rate.

Joel De La Cruz, ATL – Looking for that low-cost GPP play to get you some Coors exposure? How about De La Cruz facing a Phillies team that has a .201 wOBA over the last week? No, that is not a typo. Really -- .201. That also comes with a 27.2-percent strikeout rate, a .091 ISO and just a .244 slugging percentage.

Alex Reyes, STL – The youngster is going to struggle to get run support here, but you have to give him a shot in a low-cost GPP just based on his overall talent. The Reds offense can be squashed at times and the have just a .307 wOBA over the last week. Not much risk though given the cost.
