Tonight’s slate is more dominated by pitching over hitting tonight. There are a few games where Vegas expects runs to be scored with the Baltimore/Detroit game leading the way. The Padres played a double header yesterday so keep an eye on their lineup if they decide to change things up a bit. My favorite stack of the night is Baltimore with the Cards being a close second. The Dodgers and Phillies fill the sneaky stack roles for me tonight. Good luck!
CATCHER | |||||||||||||
Player | Team | Bats | Opp | Probable Pitcher | Throws | AB | AVG | OBP | OPS | wOBA | FD | DK | Aces |
Matt Wieters | BAL | B | DET | Mike Pelfrey | R | 75 | .227 | .293 | .586 | .266 | $2,300 | $3,500 | $4,450 |

Victor Martinez | DET | B | BAL | Ubaldo Jimenez | R | 112 | .348 | .407 | .978 | .408 | $3,000 | $4,400 | $5,150 |
Catcher
Catcher is a pretty thin position tonight. Matt Wieters will be a popular play with his bare minimum price on FD, but not worth the price elsewhere. Victor Martinez’s position differs on just about every site, but is listed as catcher on FD. V-Mart is 9-29 with 4 HR’s vs Jimenez. Brian McCann is one of the few healthy Yankees left, and has gone 5-16 with 2 HR’s vs Kennedy. I also have no issues with waiting for lineups to post, and then choosing a punt backup catcher to save salary.

First Base
While catcher is weak, 1B continues to field a strong core of player choices. Tonight, my favorite 1B is Adrian Gonzalez. A-Gon has hit Colon extremely well, going 10-17 with 2 HR’s, and is at a nice price point across the sites. If stacking Baltimore, Chris Davis always has the 2 HR potential, and the O’s check in with the highest run total of the night. Miguel Cabrera and Eric Hosmer are both in play for cash and gpp’s, but I will be targeting Freddie Freeman and Matt Adams. Davis would be extremely low owned due to top tier options, and Freeman has hit .419 in his last 16 games vs Philly.

Kolten Wong | STL | L | LAA | Jered Weaver | R | 71 | .211 | .301 | .555 | .251 | $2,200 | $3,400 | $4,100 |
Second Base
Ian Kinsler and Chase Utley both bat leadoff, and both are in nice spots to produce tonight. Utley is 7-17 vs Colon, and makes for a nice pairing with A-Gon, and although Kinsler hasn’t taken Jimenez deep, just about every player hitting after him has. If looking for cheaper options, Jonathan Schoop and Cesar Hernandez are my top options. Cesar bats towards the top of the lineup while Schoop is usually towards the bottom, but if stacking the O’s, Schoop makes for your cheap option on FD. If looking for a low owned target, Kolton Wong provides you with that.

Aaron Hill | MIL | R | SD | James Shields | R | 102 | .255 | .301 | .713 | .319 | $2,100 | $3,300 | $4,200 |

Maikel Franco | PHI | R | ATL | Aaron Blair | R | 125 | .248 | .291 | .747 | .329 | $3,500 | $3,400 | $4,900 |
Manny Machado | BAL | R | DET | Mike Pelfrey | R | 131 | .359 | .417 | 1.119 | .479 | $4,300 | $5,400 | $5,800 |
Third Base
Usually third base is pretty stacked with top tier options. I do not feel that is the case tonight. Both Manny Machado and Matt Carpenter are in play, but neither are must plays. They both make for nice combo plays with their other teammates, but won’t target either of them on their own. The popular play for cash games tonight will be Aaron Hill. His price is extremely cheap, and has taken Shields deep 4 times. Hill was also on a 9 game hit streak before being held hitless last game. If playing Cesar, pairing him with Matt Franco may provide you with a low owned Phillies combo.

Jose Iglesias | DET | R | BAL | Ubaldo Jimenez | R | 98 | .245 | .308 | .604 | .258 | $2,300 | $3,200 | $3,850 |
Freddy Galvis | PHI | B | ATL | Aaron Blair | R | 122 | .230 | .256 | .617 | .266 | $2,700 | $2,900 | $3,650 |
Jonathan Villar | MIL | B | SD | James Shields | R | 116 | .267 | .361 | .732 | .332 | $2,900 | $4,000 | $4,100 |
Shortstop
Shortstop will be my salary relief position play of the slate. It’s a tough call between Jose Iglesias and Jonathan Villar. Iglesias usually bats towards the bottom of the lineup while Villar bats in the top. Iglesias has taken Jimenez deep like most Tigers while Villar has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games. My advice is roll out Villar for cash and Jode for gpp’s. If looking for a low owned cheap option, Freddy Galvis for Philly would be my pick, but comes with the most risk. Corey Seagar is also in play as a mid to top tier option, but feel like the top priced shortstops aren’t worth their price tonight.

Outfield
Outfield is loaded tonight with multiple routes to go. Pairing Adam Jones with Mark Trumbo is a solid start. Combined, they are 11-23 vs Pelfrey. Jones is also priced dirt cheap for the spot he is in on DK and FD and should be a popular play. On the flip side, Justin Upton and J.D. Martinez each have taken Jimenez deep twice before. The low owned pairing to look at is Ryan Braun and Alex Presley. Braun has been hitting well, and is 20-43 so far in May, while Presley is a riskier play, but Vegas thinks he’ll have a few RBI opportunities tonight. Finally, I like all of the St. Louis outfielders, but Matt Holliday leads the way. Although he hasn’t hit well lately, this is more of a play against Weaver.
