Tonight’s slate is pretty average in my mind. With Madison Bumgarner being the clear cut top pitcher in my opinion, you are going to need to find some value players if to fit his high salary. Also interesting to note that Bumgarner will be the first pitcher in 7 plus years to be in the batting lineup over using the typical DH role for a hitter. My favorite stack plays tonight are the Cardinals and Indians, with the Nationals being the more popular stack of the night. Have a great holiday weekend, and good luck tonight!

Catcher
Cash Play: Buster Posey is up against a lefty tonight in the rookie Dillon Overton who gave up 3 HR’s in his 5 inning debut. While it will be tough to fit his price in on FD and DK, he is very reasonable on Aces. If looking to go cheaper, I like Matt Wieters or Wilson Contreras. Contreras has the tougher matchup, but has reached base in every game he has played in. Wieters is on a team that needs one more hr to break the record for homers in a month, and he has gone 3-4 with a homer off of Walker.
GPP plays: I like Posey as a GPP play with many likely going to pay down for catcher. That also puts Wilson Ramos in play. Nats have highest run total of night, and is in play if stacking Washington.
Value Plays: Yan Gomes makes for a nice play on FD, and gets the ballpark bump. Chris Tillman has pitched well vs Seattle, but I like Chris Ianetta as a value play. He does come with a high risk recording only 1 hit in his last 19 AB’s. The one hit was a homer though.

First Base
Cash Plays: I feel that first base ownership may be pretty spread out tonight. Nobody really stands out to me, but believe Joey Votto, Miguel Cabrera, and Justin Bour are all in play. Votto has great BvP numbers against Gonzalez batting 6-15 with 2 HR’s and 3 walks. Cabrera had 3 hits yesterday, and has homered in 2 straight games. Bour is actually the more expensive choice of the 3 on FD and DK due to his hot bat earlier in the week. He has the most risk, but has the better hitting batting in front of him tonight.
GPP Plays: You can probably put Chris Davis in the cash game spot as well, but couldn’t fit suggest everyone. Davis has homered in 3 of his last 5 games, and works well paired with Wieters and Trumbo. Mike Napoli is a threat to go deep every night, but best to pair him with other Indians.
Value Play: While Napoli fits in as a value play on DK, feel free to roll out Dae-Ho Lee. He will provide you with salary relief, and low ownership, but believe the others listed are better options tonight.

Second Base
Cash plays: Second base is a tough one tonight. I would like to find some value here, but it may be tough with Robinson Cano in the mix. He is 14-34 with 2 HR’s vs Tillman as well as recording 2 or more hits in three of his last four games. For a cheaper option, I like Whit Merrifield. While the discount isn’t really there on DK, it is on FD and Aces. He has hits in 14 of his last 16 games, and 7 of those are multi-hit games. Matt Carpenter is a beast, but price is just too high for me to run with tonight.
GPP plays: It’s not really a game to roster Ben Zobrist, making him a nice GPP target. His price is up there, and ownership should be low.
Value Plays: Your best bet may be to wait for lineups to come out to find value. If anyone is minimum price batting towards the top of the lineup, it almost makes them a near must cash game play. Greg Garcia is dirt cheap on FD and Aces, but won’t be towards the top of the lineup to use for cash games.

Third Base
Cash Plays: As the case for most nights, Josh Donaldson is a great play if you can fit him into your lineup, but not sure if you can tonight. For cheaper, Eugieno Suarez is 3-3 with a homer lifetime vs Gonzalez, and is on a modest four game hit streak. Jhonny Peralta’s price seems appetizing going 2-6 last night after failing to record a hit in his previous 4 games.
GPP plays: All of the above listed are in play for gpp’s, abut I like Pedro Alveraz if in the O’s lineup tonight on FD. His price is reasonable, and you are either getting a HR or bust for the most past from him.
Value Play: Outside of Peralta, Adonis Garcia is a riskier value play. This is more of a bet against Chen then it is for Garcia..

Shortstop
Cash Plays: I’m not a huge fan of fully punting a position in cash games, but may go that route tonight for SS, as it’s the best salary relief option. The Giants are banged up, and Ruben Tejada should be in line for the start tonight. Not expecting too much out of him, but should have plenty of RBI opportunities to exceed value tonight. Brad Miller is about the highest I’m looking to pay up for. While the matchup isn’t ideal, Miller has 2 or more hits in three of his last five games.
GPP Plays: Both Brad Miller and Javier Baez are mid-tier priced bats that work for gpp’s tonight, but paying up for Francisco Lindor may be the best play. Dickey was shelled in his last game, and Lindor has both the power and speed to be the highest scoring SS of the slate.
Value Play: Tejada is the ideal value play, but the lower owned option would probably be Adeiny Hechavarria. He’s recorded hits in four of his last 8 AB’s, but risk comes with bottom of the order lineup spot.

Outfield
Cash Plays: OF tonight I feel will be very site specific based on salaries. I also feel the mainly mid-tier OF is the way to go tonight. Mark Trumbo, Michael Taylor, and the entire Giant’s OF including Denard Span and Angel Pagan are all in play. As the case with most pitchers, Trumbo has taken Walker deep and is 2-3 vs him. He will be a hard fade tonight I feel. Taylor should be batting leadoff on the team with the highest run total of the night, and provides you with some salary relief. Span and Pagan come with the most risk due to lack of power, but believe the Giants score the most runs tonight.
GPP Plays: In addition the ones listed above, I like the more expensive Marlin’s outfield. All three can go deep and record multiple hits, but prices make them hard to roster on DK. If only Rajai Davis was leading off, and he would be a great cash game play. Unfortunately, I feel he will bat 9th, making if gpp only for me. I’m high on Nelson Cruz tonight, but will only use him if I do a Seattle stack.
Value Plays: The third OF spot for the Giants, Cubs, or Cards may provide you with that minimum price OF you need to finalize your rosters so keep an eye on that. Between the three teams, I will be taking at least one minimum price OF from those teams.
