We kick off the new week with a pretty big 13-game evening slate with a roster lock of 7:05 PM ET. We remain in Coors Field with good matchups for both teams as the Pirates drawing Jorge De La Rosa and the Rockies drawing Jeff Locke.
Weather could play a factor in a couple games, with rain being forecasted for the Oakland/Detroit and Cleveland/Minnesota games. Definitely make sure you keep track of what happens with the weather situations in Detroit and Minnesota.
Additionally, while it’s debatable on weather or not the wind plays a factor on modern ballparks (basically anything not named Wrigley), it should be noted that wind gusts are forecasted to be over 20 MPH blowing out for the Pittsburgh/Colorado, Kansas City/Los Angeles Angels, and San Diego/San Francisco games.
Once again, players are listed in order from highest to lowest FanDuel salaries.

Buster Posey always prefers to hit against lefties, and Drew Pomeranz is no exception. Posey is 4-for-5 (.800 AVG) with two homers against the former A’s southpaw.
Welington Castillo has been hitting OUT OF HIS MIND over his last seven games. Beef Welington has hit six homers while driving in 10 runs in his last seven games, and continued to punish southpaws by hitting one out against Francisco Liriano yesterday against the Pirates. Jaime Garcia has owned their matchup in the past, but I’m definitely favoring Castillo tonight, especially given his recent tear.
Yan Gomes has batted .287/.322/.470 with 16 home runs in 421 career at-bats against left-handed pitching. He gets a good matchup tonight against Tommy Milone, of course, as long as the rain stays out of play.
Victor Martinez remains in play on FanDuel where he is eligible as a catcher. Not sure why FanDuel decided to reduce his price, but $2600 is a steal considering he has hits in seven of his last eight starts.

Chris Davis gets to face Chris Archer who is struggling HARD right now. Davis has gone 5-for-14 (.357 AVG) with two homers, two doubles, six walks, and six RBIs against Archer throughout his career.
Mark Reynolds, amazingly, has been hitting for average in 2016. I suppose hitting at Coors Field for half of your games can generally do the trick. He remains relatively underpriced considering his huge power upside. Plus, when you consider Jeff Locke’s atrocious 6.12 xFIP in 2016, I think it might be a good idea to get a bunch of Rockies in your lineup tonight.
Mike Napoli matches up extremely well against Tommy Milone of the Twins. Napoli is 4-for-7 (.571 AVG) with a homer and stolen base against the southpaw throughout his career.
Albert Pujols is in play, primarily, because of his price rather than his matchup. He is only $2800 on FanDuel, and is coming off of an outing where he went 2-for-4 with a home run. He has homered off of Ian Kennedy before, so it wouldn’t be a shock if he went deep again tonight.

Logan Forsythe tends to only be in play against left-handed pitchers, but he has been hitting the ball extremely well lately, going 12-for-29 (.414 AVG) with a homer, triple, four doubles, four walks, and eight runs scored in his last seven games. He is also 4-for-5 (.800 AVG) with a home run and two doubles against Kevin Gausman throughout his career.
Dee Gordon makes another return to Dodger Stadium where he’ll be looking to help his manager, Don Mattingly, get the “W” in his return to Chavez Ravine. Gordon has reached base safely in nine of his last 10 games, and is coming off of a nice game in San Francisco, where he went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs scored.
Brian Dozier is looking more and more locked in at the plate, and gets a favorable matchup against Danny Salazar. Dozier is 9-for-18 (.500 AVG) with two homers, four doubles, four RBIs, and four runs scored against the talented Indians right-hander.

Nolan Arenado is probably the safest of tonight’s $5k+ options. He is a ridiculous 6-for-11 (.545 AVG) with a homer, two doubles, two walks, four RBIs, and zero strikeouts against the guy I refer to as “National League John Danks” in Jeff Locke.
David Freese is a bit of a bargain considering he gets to face a lefty tonight in Jorge De La Rosa, and be able to do so in the thin Colorado air. He hasn't shown much power this season, but believe me, he does have it in him.
Yunel Escobar has had a bit of a cold swing, but did hit a homer in yesterday’s loss against the Mariners. Limited history though against Ian Kennedy, but it’s promising, with Escobar going 2-for-4 (.500 AVG) with a home run and four walks.
Brandon Drury doesn’t have the name value of a Jake Lamb at third base, but he has been getting the job done throughout the season. Drury has been getting all of the starts against lefties, and that should continue tonight against Jaime Garcia of the Cardinals. Drury is 7-for-15 (.467 AVG) with two doubles in his last three starts. He may be the best punt play of the night.

Jordy Mercer continues to bat leadoff against southpaws, and will likely do so tonight against Jorge De La Rosa of the Rockies. The Pirates are very good against left-handed pitching, and Mercer has a good shot at accumulating points left and right from the top of the order. Not to mention, Mercer is 6-for-9 (.667 AVG) against De La Rosa throughout his career.
Francisco Lindor is a significantly better hitter from the right-side of the plate, facing lefties. This season, he has gone 12-for-27 (.444 AVG) with his only homer, two doubles, and three RBIs against southpaws.
Asdrubal Cabrera has quietly gone 15-for-38 (.395 AVG) with a home run, three doubles, four RBIs, and six runs scored in his last 10 games. Ultimately, he has definitely been an upgrade over Ruben Tejada and Wilmer Flores for the Mets.

Andrew McCutchen won’t exactly make me look like a genius if he goes off tonight considering he’s going to be hitting in Coors Field, but I think he has a shot to do some major damage against the southpaw, Jorge De La Rosa. Cutch has been a bit cold lately, only getting hits in two of his last five starts, but if anything’s going to be a slump killer, it would definitely be Coors.
Starling Marte also gets to join McCutchen in Coors Field, but he also has a good history against De La Rosa, going 4-for-9 (.444 AVG) with a triple, three walks, and zero strikeouts. The young stud has hits in seven of his last nine games, and has doubled in each of those seven games.
Colby Rasmus will always be a threat to take one out of the yard. He has a good history against Taijuan Walker of the Mariners, going 5-for-10 (.500 AVG) with a homer, two doubles, and three runs scored. Dude is off the charts amazing right now. In his last 37 games, including the 2015 playoffs, Rasmus has batted .312/.445/.817 with 17 home runs!
Curtis Granderson is finally delivering the numbers that I expected him to put up against right-handed pitching. Grandy has reached base safely at least two times in each of his last four games, and has four home runs in his last eight games.
Nick Markakis is tonight’s BvP king, having gone 11-for-27 with a homer, double, three walks, and just one strikeout against Rick Porcello of the Red Sox.
Corey Dickerson has been swinging a hot bat, going 7-for-18 (.389 AVG) with two homers, three doubles, and six RBIs in his last five games.
Mitch Moreland returns to Globe Life Park where he had a huge homestand the last time the Rangers were at home. He went 7-for-18 (.389 AVG) with two homers and four doubles in five games against the Orioles and Astros, and gets a good matchup tonight against Nathan Eovaldi.
Ezequiel Carrera started every game in the Jays last series against the A’s, going 7-for-14 (.500 AVG) with a homer, two doubles, two stolen bases, and four runs scored. With Michael Saunders nursing an injury, Carrera received all of the starts from the leadoff spot. He must be in play tonight as long as he’s back at the top of the order.
Enrique Hernandez hasn’t been able to face a left-handed pitcher in awhile. Simply put, he has ELITE numbers against southpaws, batting .392/.456/.683 with six home runs in just 120 at-bats.
Alex Gordon took out out of the park yesterday against the Orioles and gets a decent matchup against Garrett Richards of the Angels. Gordon is 4-for-6 (.667 AVG) with a double, walk and two RBIs against the Angels ace. PITCHf/x numbers also favor Gordon in the matchup.
Chris Coghlan has extreme upside for an affordable price. This is especially so when you realize that he has homered in three of his last four starts. He has a reasonable matchup against Jordan Zimmermann, who he has held his own against while in the National League.
