The thing about daily fantasy sports is that you just won't win every single day. That is something that takes a long time to truly understand and even longer to accept. The key ingredient I have found is consistency. Chances are you have come across a very smart, very good strategy for playing DFS. Hell, you're reading the DFS Playbook right now which will crack the $100,000 in total prizes hopefully in a matter of days now. The reason the Playbook has been so successful is that it is always the same. Sure the players are swapped out and certain teams are stacked and unstacked faster than loaves of bread at your local grocery store. But the numbers behind are always the same. Each day you are getting the picks of the litter and over time that is going to help you profit.
But Ted and I are realists. Just because you follow the DFS Playbook doesn't guarantee you wins. There are a few of you loyal readers who are still having a hard time finishing in the top half of your 50/50's day in and day out. I stayed up real late this morning trying to figure out how exactly that is possible. The only thing I can come up with is that somewhere along the way you had to have abandon the strategies or the Playbook for a brief time and then circled back? Mind you, I don't have a problem with anybody straying from the Playbook or coming up with their own system. I've honestly spend three years developing this system of mine and just now have reached that point where I enter every contest knowing I have a very good chance of making a return on my investment. Three years folks. My advice is to hang in there. Reduce the price points of the contests that you are entering while you are in your funk. Stay away from GPP (tournaments) as well. There will be plenty of money to win once you have settled in on the right strategy and system for you.
Most imporatntly though is to hit either Ted or myself up during our shows, on Twitter (@Jeff_Mans & @TedSchuster) or on Facebook. We also offer an "ask an expert" function on the Fantasy Alarm App which comes directly to my email inbox. We want you to win and have a good time playing DFS. But stay patient and stick to the script. Good times are always ahead for those willing to fight through the down times.
Also, remember that if you create a new account RIGHT now over at DraftKings ($10 minimum) using our link here, you will receive a FREE 2014 Fantasy Alarm Fantasy Football Draft Guide, NFL Assistant GM In-Season Package and our COMPLETE DFS tools for this coming fantasy football season.
