Yankees vs. Dodgers Prediction: Friday, October 25th; MLB World Series Game 1

This was the series that run-scoring lovers wanted. As I look over each team, I see a huge mismatch in the way these teams are built. The pitching is just not good overall on each side. The Yankees do have the advantage with Gerrit Cole in Game 1 and the bullpen is slightly above average, but Jack Flaherty and the Dodgers pitchers are just plain bad outside of Yamamoto.

Expect the offenses to thrive in this series as bats like Juan Soto, Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Mookie Betts will headline things. They’ve all had excellent postseasons as well. So, the total going over is a bet I plan on making for this Game 1 and moving forward in the series. To further back it up the Yankees had a 3-1-1 record to the over in their ALCS series against the Guardians and the Dodgers went over in all 6 games against the Mets in the NLCS.

Now that I have the game total bet on the over locked in, how do we get there? You would be right to assume on the bats of some of those studs I mentioned in the previous paragraph. One hitter that stands out to me is Juan Soto, who is hitting well over .300 during these playoffs. His numbers all season long against righties like Flaherty were great as well, with a .293 average and .999 OPS.

I like Soto to stay hot as he looks to win his second World Series ring. Give me the over on his hits/runs/RBIs in Game 1 – something he has done in 4 games already this postseason!
