Blue Jays vs. Mariners Predictions: Wednesday, October 15th

After a trip to Toronto, things have escalated quickly, and the Mariners come into tonight’s Game 3 at home up 2-0 in the series, just a pair of games from the World Series. I don’t believe the Blue Jays will go down without a fight, though, and that sparked my wager on this game. 

George Kirby has had a great postseason season so far in a pair of starts in the ALDS against the Tigers, where he gave up just 3 earned runs over 10 innings pitched and had 14 strikeouts. The Tigers were a different lineup than the Blue Jays, though at least in terms of one key category.

The Blue Jays, for the faults they have, are not a team that just swings at any pitch. Most of the season, they had the lowest K-rate of any MLB team, and this postseason has been much of the same, with them punching out just 14.3%. Kirby is a great pitcher, don’t get me wrong, but he is not going to rack up the Ks today and will likely not pitch more than 5 innings either, so give me under 4.5 strikeouts on his prop.
