Ordinarily I simply put out my lineups without any write-up given the track breakdown, practice notes, and playbook info there is prior to them coming out. This week however with FanDuel initiating their version of DFS NASCAR I will do a bit of a lineup strategy primer for those contests.
Roster makeup:
Five drivers on a roster for $50,000 in cap or less
Scoring in FanDuel:
- Laps Completed = 0.1 points
- Laps Led = 0.1 points
- Position Differential = +/- 0.5 points
- First place = 43 points
- Second place = 40 points
- Third place = 38 points (spots 4th-40thare one fewer point than the previous one)
With that scoring in mind, and a lack of dominator points potential for any race, it mainly comes down to getting guys on the roster that will finish the races. Normally this isn’t a massive concern, but at races like this week’s it becomes the primary focus. Following the same idea put forth in the playbook whereas to leave quite a bit of salary cap on the table still holds true in this case, even with the higher salaries for the top end drivers.
Cash Plays:
- Brad Keselowski
- Joey Logano
- Aric Almirola
- Kyle Busch (low-tier cash play)
- Jamie McMurray
- Ty Dillon
- Gray Gaulding
All are solid cash game plays this week and are easily workable into the shortened FD lineups.
GPP Plays:
- Denny Hamlin
- Kevin Harvick
- Kyle Busch
- Martin Truex Jr.
- Chase Elliott
- Ryan Blaney
- Kyle Larson
- Ricky Stenhoue Jr.
- Darrell Wallace Jr.
- Brendan Gaughan
- Cole Whitt
All of these guys have upside to them but have some shaky performances in the past or have a lack of laps completed that bump them down a bit. Some haven’t been mentioned in the playbook but looking at stats in the track breakdown should show way their trust level is lower.
I will have full lineups for both sites starting in two weeks.
Good luck.
