Top Tier
Freddie Freeman (L), 1B ATL - The Braves 1B is scorching the earth hot right about now, hitting .500 with an OPS north of 1.500 over his last 10 games. Freeman has belted five homers, scored 14 runs, drove in 11 more and has swiped two bags over that span. Freeman has had a lot of success against right-handed pitching this year, batting .316 with 18 HR and a .418 wOBA. Aaron Nola (R), although very good, struggles with LHH allowing an .810 OPS and .344 wOBA.
Jose Altuve (R), 2B HOU - Altuve draws a match-up against a lefty that does not fare well against right-handed hitters. YIKES. Altuve is one of the top spend up’s of the day as he, a notorious lefty masher, is once again hitting north of .300 with a .350 wOBA against southpaws. Taylor Hearn (L) is on the mound and RHH have a .910 OPS and a .386 wOBA.
Mid Tier
Austin Meadows (L), OF TB - I said it in the hitting coach last night that Meadows was heating up and he proceeded to belt two homers. He’s riding a little five-game hitting streak and feasts off right-handed pitching. Meadows has 17 HR and a .386 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. Triston McKenzie (R) on the flipside has allowed a .770 OPS and .346 wOBA to left-handed hitters.
Eric Haase (R), C/OF DET - This guy just hits a lot of homers. He’s belted 15 in 51 games, putting him on pace for around 45 HR across a 162 game season. He’s crushed lefties this season belting nine homers while batting .338 with a .467 wOBA. Righties have KILLED Daniel Lynch (L) this year. They’re batting..wait for it...486 with a 1.310 OPS and .540 wOBA against him.
Value Tier
Robbie Grossman (B), OF DET - I’ve mentioned this all season long, but Grossman swings it much better from the right side of the plate. He has five bombs and a .379 wOBA against them and if you read Eric Haase (R)’s write-up you’d understand why I’m suggesting TWO Tigers. Daniel Lynch (L) struggles..actually that’s an understatement. Daniel Lynch (L) SUCKS against right-handed hitters.
Greg Allen (B), OF NYY - If he gets on base, he’s stealing a bag. That’s that. The dude is MOVIN’ right now. Across eight games, he’s reaching, why is step one. He has a .393 OBP and has swiped four bags over his last five contests. Righties are batting .294 with a .820 OPS and .353 wOBA against Martín Pérez (L).
