DFS CFB Week 7 Friday Top Plays

Frank Harris – QB, UTSA ($6,800 DK / $12,000 FD)

Interestingly, Harris is the highest-priced player on FD but is fifth in salary on DK. That differential makes him a clear value on DK, even on a two-game slate, because he should at least cost more than Mordecai. Either way, expect Harris to be popular in cash. The UTSA dual-threat has at least 27 DK in five of six games and has the upside for 40+ in this easy matchup vs. FIU. The Roadrunners are massive favorites for a reason and Harris will be a big part of that scoring.

Tanner Mordecai – QB, SMU ($7,900 DK / $10,700 FD)

On this two-game slate, it’s basically Mordecai and Harris as the clear top QBs. We know Mordecai will give you a high volume of pass attempts in this SMU offense that leans on the passing game. He also faces a Navy defense that ranks 103rd nationally in pass yards allowed per game. Mordecai can give you 20-25 DFS points as a perfectly fine cash play, though his DK price tag might be better for GPPs.

Brendan Brady – RB, UTSA ($6,000 DK / $9,600 FD)

Plug Brady into your cash lineups and don’t think twice as he’s the clear best RB on this slate. The UTSA lead back has the safest DFS floor at the running back position with a proven track record and now playing for a massive favorite. Maybe there’s blowout potential, but Brady should get his numbers before exiting anyway. He’s put up 20+ DK points in four of the last five games with 20-25 touches per contest. Brady faces an FIU defense that’s allowing 186 rushing yards per game (112th in FBS) and 5.08 ypc.

Rashee Rice – WR, SMU ($8,500 DK / $10,000 FD)

If you haven’t been paying attention, Rice is a stud in DFS as well as one of the best real-life wideouts in the country. He has 46 receptions and 687 receiving yards over five games with at least eight catches and 122 yards in four contests thus far. Rice’s DFS floor is high with the heavy target and reception volume, and his ceiling is possibly higher than all of the UTSA receivers on this slate – which is saying something. It’s hard to fade Rice in cash on this slate in a favorable matchup vs. Navy.

Zakhari Franklin – WR, UTSA ($7,600 DK / $9,600 FD)

UTSA boasts three stud receivers in Franklin, Joshua Cephus, and De’Corian Clark. All are firmly in play on this small slate, but Franklin may go overlooked simply because he’s the most expensive. He provides a solid floor with at least five catches and 84 yards in every game thus far and 20+ DK points in five of six. We may see Franklin be less popular than Rice, Cephus and Clark on this slate, but the cash safety is there.

Joshua Cephus – WR, UTSA ($6,800 DK / $8,500 FD)

Cephus is the cheapest of the three UTSA receivers, but he’s arguably the best point-per-dollar play among them. Like Franklin, Cephus is a solid cash option with at least five catches in every game and a legit floor of 15-20 DK points. Cephus doesn’t score as many TDs as Franklin or Clark, but the PPR volume is still there. He’ll cost a bit less than his teammates but could easily provide similar DFS production.

DFS CFB Week 7 Friday Value Plays

Velton Gardner – RB, SMU ($3,500 DK / $7,500 FD)

Tre Siggers is still the lead RB for SMU, but Gardner should not be ignored on this slate. He had 12 carries for 69 yards (5.8 ypc) and a TD run in last week’s game vs. UCF and he now leads the team in rushing yards this season. Gardner is playing a nice complementary, change-of-pace role next to Siggers and he can easily break off another TD and/or double-digit DFS points this week. Though Navy’s rush defense is solid, SMU is a two-score favorite here and may lean on the run in the second half.

Jalen Bracey – WR, FIU ($4,100 DK / $6,200 FD)

Bracey hadn’t done much before going off for nine catches and 75 yards last week. He became a top pass-catcher for FIU after Tyrese Chambers left with an injury. Chambers is a game-time decision tonight, and Bracey could again be FIU’s top receiver if he sits. It’s definitely a risky play, but he’s a great value on DK. At least we know FIU will be throwing a ton as big underdogs to SMU.

Beau Corrales – WR, SMU ($3,000 DK / $5,800 FD)

Outside of Rashee Rice, the rest of the SMU receiving corps is a mess. Jake Bailey is out and likely done for the season, Jordan Kerley had one big performance but hasn’t played in three weeks, and Roderick Daniels Jr. has been out since Week 1 and is a question mark whether he’s playing on Friday. In all of their absences, Beau Corrales has stepped into more playing time and targets after recently returning from his own injury. The former UNC transfer has three catches in both of his two games thus far and looks like SMU’s No. 2 wideout behind Rice. The guy shouldn’t be min price on DK at this point.

  • De'Corian Clark – UTSA
