DFS CFB Top Plays Week 11 Friday
Caleb Williams - Southern California QB ($9.4K DK / $12.5K FD)
The 8th-ranked Trojans (8-1, 6-1 Pac-12) host the dismal Colorado Buffaloes (1-8, 1-5) tonight with huge matchups against UCLA and Notre Dame lurking over the next two weeks. Will Williams and his teammates be looking ahead? I doubt it as Williams has proven his ability to create so many mistake-free opportunities with his talented receivers as he is one of only two quarterbacks in the country with at least 15 touchdown passes and only one interception (Coastal Carolina’s Grayson McCall has 21 TDs and one INT). Colorado’s defense is straight-up bad as they allow 250.7 passing yards per game with an 8.4 YPA plus Williams has thrown for 300+ yards in four of his last five games- lock in Caleb Williams if you have the funds.
Jake Haener – Fresno State QB ($7.4K DK / $10.8K FD)
Haener torched Hawaii's secondary last week in Fresno State’s big 55-13 win over Hawaii. He completed 24 of his 29 passes for 327 yards and threw for four touchdowns with zero picks. At $5.2K DK many will flock to Doug Brumfield as the QB2/S-Flex on this slate but Haener has been amazing since coming back from his injury. He has 58.44 total DK points in the two games since his return throwing for 721 yards total with seven touchdowns. Expect that to continue tonight against UNLV.
Travis Dye – Southern California RB ($7.1K / $10.5K FD)
Dye is a bell cow for USC and he has been special all season, averaging 6.3 yards per carry to get to 858 rushing yards through nine games. He's also caught 20 passes for 194 receiving yards but it’s the TDs that make him such a hot commodity. He is putting up touchdowns at a rate that is set aside for legends- Marcus Allen-type stuff. Dye is the first back for USC to have scored at least one rushing touchdown in eight straight games since Allen’s 1981 Heisman season. Expect Dye to get even more carries in these last three games as he's only run the ball only 136 times so far this year (75 carries less than what his career-high was coming into this year) and tonight’s opponent is probably the worst rush defense in the nation.
Tyler Scott- Cincinnati WR ($6.5K DK / $10.0K FD)
Scott has been on a tear since coming back from injury. Even after missing two games, he still leads the Bearcats in receiving yards (he has 154 more than the next WR), and in the two games since his return, he has 22 targets including 10-139-2 last week against Navy. Scott has eight of the 18 passing touchdowns thrown by a Cincy QB this year and if you take away the USF game where he got hurt, Scott is averaging 9.7 targets per game and has caught a TD in all but three games in 2022. With two 39+ DK fantasy points out of his last three full games played Scott is the top receiver on the slate.
CFB DFS Week 11 Friday Top Value Plays
Nick Williams- UNLV WR ($3.6K DK / $6.3K FD)
Williams, a 6-foot-4-inch wideout has emerged as a steadying presence in a UNLV receiver corps that has battled injuries all season. The CSU Pueblo transfer finally got his chance to play on Sept. 24 against Utah State when two of UNLV’s starting wideouts, Kyle Williams and Jeff Weimer went down injured. Williams stepped up and grabbed three catches for 53 yards mainly from the slot receiver position and now outside of the Rebels 42-7 loss to Air Force, Williams has caught at least two passes in every game since becoming a starter. It gets better- he played 59 of 61 snaps last week against San Diego State and UNLV did have any other receiver outside of the top three even play a rep in that game where he had 94 yards receiving and a TD. Value is very scarce on the slate so why not take a shot at Williams.
Southern California Value Receivers
The top two USC wide receivers Jordan Addison and Mario Williams have not played the last two games. Addison, the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner was well on his way to another standout season before his injury, with seven touchdowns in his first seven games as a Trojan. In Addison’s absence, however, USC’s passing attack has not missed a beat against Arizona and California, as Williams threw for 774 yards and nine touchdowns using a group of value receivers. Five different players caught at least two passes last week against Cal for the Trojans. They were led by second-year sophomore Michael Jackson III (115 receiving yards and two touchdowns) and fourth-year sophomore Tahj Washington (118 yards and one touchdown), in their 41-35 win. If one of Addison and Williams are still out Washington, Terrell Bynum (7 targets/7 receptions last week), Jackson III, and Brenden Rice (led the team in targets 2 weeks ago) are all in play as values- if both return tonight, they become MME darts only.
Other plays to consider
Doug Brumfield – UNLV QB ($5.2K DK / $9.4K FD) Will be popular at S-Flex due to price- if I can’t get to Haener then Brumfield is next in line
Keaton Mitchell - East Carolina RB ($6.6K DK / $9.6K FD) Avg 22 touches last 3 weeks with 6 TDs- with Harris out Mitchell is a bell-cow
Jordan Mims - Fresno state RB ($6.7K DK / $9K FD) 800 yards/9 TDs on the ground
Jordan Addison - Southern California WR ($7.6K DK / $9.8K FD) GTD bit if he plays, he is a top play of course
Mario Williams – Southern California ($6.2K DK) GTD- if he plays and Addison is out, he must be in your cash lineup
Nikki Remigio - Fresno State WR ($6.9K DK / $7.5K FD) Maybe in my main lineup- double-digit FP in all but one game
Isiah Winstead - East Carolina WR ($6.7K DK / $8.5K FD) Stud WR but tough matchup- near 30% target share- top GPP play
Tre Tucker - Cincinnati WR ($6.0K DK / $6.5K FD) GPP-pivot off Scott
Ryan Jones – East Carolina TE ($5.6K DK / $5.8K FD) GPP-only but Cincy has been burned by TEs
Jsi Hatfield - East Carolina WR ($3.7K DK / $5.5K FD) A great value play of CJ Johnson is out again
Montana Lemonious-Craig - Colorado WR ($3.6K DK / $5.7K FD)
