Army-Navy College Football CFB DFS Top Picks

MVP/Captain Picks

Tyhier Tyler – Army QB ($17,700 DK / 14,500 FD)

The Army QB led the team in rushing this season with 601 yards and 12 TDs over 10 games played, though his playing time was limited in a few of those contests. Tyler ended the season strong with 19, 19, and 33 DK in the last three games. Those performances featured 100 rushing yards and a TD on 27 carries, 70 rush yards and two TDs on 18 carries, and 101 yards and three TDs on 11 carries. Tyler is Army’s top ball-carrier in the triple-option offense and should be busy in this game.

Daba Fofana – Navy RB ($13,200 DK / $14,000 FD)

Fofana has been Navy’s lead rusher in its triple-option offense. The fullback has seen 20+ carries in five of the last seven games and 15 carries in another. Fofana gets a workhorse volume and it keeps his DFS floor at a safer level than pretty much every other rusher from both teams. If you don’t put him at MVP/Captain, get the Navy back into a FLEX spot – especially for cash lineups.

FLEX Picks

Xavier Arline – Navy QB ($10,000 DK / $15,000 FD)

Navy’s QB isn’t as good on the ground as Tyhier Tyler, but he’s still plenty involved in the Midshipmen triple-option offense. Arline has double-digit carries in all four starts since taking over for the injured Tai Lavatai. He’s found the end zone in three of those four games and even added a passing score against Notre Dame a few weeks ago. You can consider Arline for your MVP/Captain, but he’s better used as a FLEX play.

Ay’Jaun Marshall – Army RB ($8,600 DK / $8,000 FD)

Army has a few different backs that will get carries as secondary rushers next to Tyler. We have Jakobi Buchanon as an option, but Marshall is cheaper on both sites for similar or better DFS production. Marshall is the big play threat for Army. He’s averaging 11.1 yards per rush this season and is usually good for one long run per game. He even has six receptions for 208 yards and two scores as one of Army’s few pass-catching weapons.

Anton Hall Jr. – Navy RB ($8,200 DK / $10,000 FD)

When it’s not Fofana or Arline getting the ball in Navy’s triple-option offense, there are a few other rushers to consider. Anton Hall usually sees the third-most rushing volume on the team. He’s gotten double-digit carries in two of the last three games and will give you a slightly better floor than either Maquel Haywood or Vincent Terrell. Don’t expect much, but Hall will at least get more carries than most other guys on this slate not named Tyler, Fofana or Arline.

Isaiah Alston – Army WR ($6,600 DK / $9,500 FD)

If Army ever does throw it, then Alston will likely be on the end of any passes. His 16 receptions lead the team this season and the next-closest has 10, if you can believe that. Honestly, this is just a dart throw because there’s a good chance Army doesn’t attempt any passes. Alston is worth a GPP look to differentiate. It’s worth pointing out that Navy’s pass defense ranks 114th nationally in terms of yards allowed per game – though Army won’t be going away from their triple-option offense.

Tyson Riley – Army RB ($4,400 DK / $7,000 FD)

Outside of Tyler, it’s Riley who gets the biggest rushing workload for Army among the backs. He had 19 and 13 carries in the last two games and has double-digit touches in three of his last four contests. The yardage or TD production isn’t really there, but any type of semi-consistent workload is a welcome sight on this showdown slate – especially in the value range on both sites.

Quinn Maretzki – Army K ($4,200 DK)

On DraftKings, we’re able to roster kickers in showdown lineups. It’s not a terrible strategy for a low-scoring matchup like this where both teams will be content to settle for field goals if in range. It’s notable that this Army-Navy matchup featured three made field goals last year and two in 2020. Maretzki or Navy’s kicker, Bijan Richols, could easily outscore or produce the same DFS-wise as one of the backup RBs on this slate.
