Top CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Austin ReedWKUJACST900024.951050024.45
We know the Western Kentucky offense throws the ball a ton, which usually keeps Austin Reed’s DFS floor safe for cash lineups. He’s averaging 40.8 pass attempts and 276.3 passing yards per game this season with a 14:3 TD:INT ratio over six games. After “only” having 23 DK last week, Reed still threw for nearly 300 yards and tossed 3 TDs. The Jack St defense is allowing 284 pass yards per game in conference play (103rd in FBS) and shouldn’t slow down the pass-heavy WKU offense. Reed can go for 30+ DK at his best.
Kaidon SalterLIBMTSU860029.641100028.64
Just like last week, Kaidon Salter should be a popular QB1 play in cash lineups again for this weekday small slate. Liberty’s dual-threat is actually coming off his worst statistical and DFS performance of the season, so a bounce back for 25-30 DK points is likely here. The MTSU defense is allowing nearly 300 passing yards per game in conference play. Salter should be perfectly fine in cash at home with Liberty favored by two touchdowns. As always, his rushing ability gives him a stronger floor and higher upside too. Choosing between Reed and Salter is tough, but the latter is the way to go if you can't fit both in.
Nicholas VattiatoMTSULIB700019.91940019.19
Everyone’s QB2 decision will likely come down to Carter Bradley vs Nicholas Vattiato. You can argue for/against both and the similar price tags don’t help. Bradley is at home with South Alabama being a three-score favorite while Vattiato is on the road as decent-sized underdogs against a tough Liberty defense. The matchup is tougher for Vattiato, but he also may be throwing more while trailing. He's also the bigger rushing threat, which provides more upside to get 25+ DK. Bradley is probably the safer cash option while Vattiato brings more GPP upside if choosing between them.
Ashton FryeJACSTWKU45004.3480004.34

UPDATE: Zion Webb is expected to start at QB tonight, per reports. He's a GPP play in this matchup with the rushing upside.

Jacksonville State is dealing with multiple QB injuries and it could put Ashton Frye as the starter this week. Zion Webb (concussion) and Logan Smothers (ankle) both got hurt last week and are likely out tonight. Frye came into the game and went 5-for-11 through the air with 23 rushing yards. The redshirt freshman is very raw and could struggle again this week, but he’s also cheap enough to consider in GPP lineups for the potential 15-20 DK points. The WKU pass defense is below average and Frye could be throwing/running a ton while Jack St trails. It's not a terrible dart throw on a small slate like this one.

Top CFB DFS Running Backs

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Quinton CooleyLIBMTSU690015.28880012.95
Quinton Cooley anchored lineups last week with his 31 DK, 163 rushing yards, and 2 TDs on a whopping 28 carries. He now has three straight 100-yard games and four in the last five. The Liberty lead RB is again a top play on this slate. His team is favored by two touchdowns and the MTSU defense has allowed 6 rush TDs over three conference games. He might be more of a GPP play on the DK slate, but he’s underpriced on FD and a core play over there. We could be looking at another 100-yard game with a TD or two.
La'Damian WebbSALAUSM620019.871000017.70
La’Damian Webb put up 24 DK last game with 122 total yards and a TD on 22 touches. Although Kentrel Bullock is taking some touches away, Webb is South Alabama’s lead back and should be locked into 20-25 carries in this matchup. SALA is a three-score favorite at home and Southern Miss is allowing 171 rushing yards per game in conference play (90th in FBS). Webb now has at least 19 DK in five straight games with 8 total TDs on the season and averaging 5.7 ypc. He’s a top overall play on this small slate and is a bit underpriced on DK compared to his elevated FD price tag.
Frank Gore Jr.USMSALA510014.95740012.12
One thing’s for sure with Frank Gore Jr. – he’s going to get the volume in Southern Miss’ offense. Gore has 20, 24, and 29 carries in the first three conference games this year and he consistently saw 20+ touches during conference play last season. That volume usually keeps his DFS floor on the higher end, though last week he only had 66 yards on 29 carries. Still, Gore had 120+ rushing yards in the two games prior and is always a threat to post 20-30 DK with his bell-cow volume. On this slate, consider him a GPP play because South Alabama’s rush defense presents a tough matchup on the road.
Anwar LewisJACSTWKU42006.260005.70
Malik Jackson is doubtful to play tonight after suffering an undisclosed injury last week. So, Anwar Lewis is likely Jacksonville State’s lead back and he’s very cheap. Lewis saw 15 carries for 81 yards in Jackson’s absence last game and got the majority of RB snaps. Jackson was getting workhorse volume before in this backfield, so it looks like Lewis will step right into 20 touches or so per game. Considering Jacksonville St’s uncertain QB situation, the running game might be leaned on more this week too. The WKU rush defense is below-average and allowed La Tech's Tyre Shelton to run for 118 yards and 2 TDs last game. Lewis is a top value play on this slate.

Top CFB DFS Wide Receivers

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Malachi CorleyWKUJACST780025.4980020.30
Malachi Corley is deservedly the highest-priced WR on this slate and still a top overall play, regardless of position. He just dropped 49 DK last game with 207 yards and 3 TDs. He won’t do that every game, but that’s the legit ceiling for a guy with Corley’s talent as the No. 1 WR in a pass-heavy offense. Corley now has at least 8 receptions and 80+ yards in four straight games with 22+ DK in three of the last four. His DFS floor/ceiling is the best on this slate, so fade at your own risk. As mentioned above, the Jack St pass defense isn’t good and Corley should see plenty of targets from Austin Reed.
Caullin LacySALAUSM700027.051000021.30
Caullin Lacy has been an absolute DFS stud this season while being the clear-cut top WR for South Alabama. He has at least 22 DK and 100 receiving yards in five straight games with 30+ DK in four of those. When South Alabama throws the ball, Lacy is on the receiving end more often than not. His 39 receptions, 723 yards, and 6 TDs lead the team by a wide margin thus far. The DFS floor/ceiling combo is arguably the best on the slate and will rival Malachi Corley as the top WR play.
Holden WillisMTSULIB630014.37770011.12
After starting the season slow, Holden Willis has come on strong for Middle Tennessee. He has at least 4 receptions and 70+ receiving yards in four straight games with a couple of 20+ DK outbursts. The tight end has emerged as a reliable weapon for Nick Vattiato when MTSU goes to the air. As double-digit underdogs here vs Liberty, we should more passing game script for this offense. Willis is a GPP upside play on this slate, especially if you want to fade Corley or Lacy among expensive receivers.
CJ DanielsLIBMTSU600014.8810011.80
CJ Daniels really underwhelmed last week with only two catches for 18 yards. This continues his major boom-or-bust tendencies this season, so a bounceback is in the cards tonight. Daniels has 23+ DK in three of the last five games but also has two duds mixed in. He’s always a candidate to explode for 100+ yards and a TD with a long gain or two. The MTSU defense is allowing nearly 300 passing yards per game, so the GPP upside is there for Daniels to exceed value. He’s become tough to trust for cash lineups, though.
Perry CarterJACSTWKU570010.42750010.30
As mentioned above, Jacksonville State’s injury-riddled QB room is a worry for their pass-catchers on this slate. Even so, the offense will likely need to throw while trailing WKU here and it can result in guys like Perry Carter seeing enough volume to return volume. Carter has at least 4 receptions and 69 yards in three straight games with 13+ DK in each. We’ll take that at his cheaper price tags on this small slate. We do have to downgrade the Jack St passing attack if Ashton Frye is the QB, though.
Aaron BedgoodLIBMTSU41006.4264005.92
If you want cheap exposure to the Liberty offense, then Aaron Bedgood is an upside option. He went for 14 DK last week with a TD and 64 total yards. The interesting thing with Bedgood is his usage as a ball-carrier. The wideout has seen 13 rush attempts over the past two games combined and he has 20+ rushing yards in four straight games now. He actually has more carries (16) than receptions (6) so far. At his cheap prices, Bedgood is worth a GPP dart throw on this short slate.
Latreal JonesUSMSALA330012.88700010.40
The tough matchup on the road at South Alabama makes it tough to get excited about many Southern Miss guys outside of Frank Gore Jr. Still, the game script could call for many second-half pass attempts and Latreal Jones could return value with that in mind. Jones went off for 124 yards and six receptions two games ago and he has 5+ catches in three of the last four games. His cheap prices are attractive on this slate, especially on DK, if you want a salary-saver for the potential 15 DK or so.
