CFB DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Playbook & Schedule: September 21st
Prepare to explore my top college football DFS picks for Week 4! For this Saturday, I’m all in on the exciting games lined up for September 21st.
There are some crucial matchups and standout players to watch, so let’s dive into this week’s CFB DFS projections and my best CFB DFS picks for Saturday.
CFB DFS Lineups: Quarterbacks
Cam Ward, Miami Hurricanes
Ward started out the season with bang compiling 29.7 FD fantasy points in Week 1. He followed that up with 31.46 in Week 2, then 33.84 last weekend. What more really needs to be said? He gets another juicy matchup against USF in Week 4 in a game the Hurricanes should control from start to finish.
Alan Bowman, Oklahoma State Cowboys
Good but not great from a fantasy perspective in Weeks 1 and 2, Bowman officially had his best start of the season last weekend. This is a dynamic OSU offense that he’s leading, and they’ve shown zero signs of slowing down anytime soon. They’ll certainly need to put up points to beat their opponent this week in Utah.
Hank Brown, Auburn Tigers
Brown sat the bench for the first couple of weeks, but after Payton Thorne was unimpressive to say the least, he now enters Week 4 as the bonafide starter after a very good debut last week. Granted it was against New Mexico, tossing for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns is nothing to scoff at, and he’ll need similar numbers to beat Arkansas in Week 4.
CFB DFS Lineups: Running Backs
Ollie Gordon II, Oklahoma State Cowboys
A dud from Gordon finally happened in Week 3 as he amassed just 41 rushing yards on 17 carries, failing to reach the end zone at all. Should we be worried? Absolutely not. He’s gotten at least 17 carries in every game this season, so just sheer volume alone is worthwhile. I also like for the Cowboys to put up points against the Utes, with Gordon being a key part.
Devin Neal, Kansas Jayhawks
Neal hasn’t quite lived up to the hype many expected coming into 2024 from a CFB DFS projections standpoint. Still, he’s been extremely efficient and is simply lacking the touchdowns. In Kansas’ last game, he had 24 touches and 153 yards. Add in a touchdown or two and that’s not too shabby. I think he finds pay dirt in Week 4.
Kalel Mullings, Michigan Wolverines
Sorry Donovan Edwards, but Mullings is clearly the best running back the Wolverines have. It looks like the coaching staff is starting to realize that too, as he had 15 carries and 2 touchdowns in Week 3. Michigan is making the move to Alex Orji at QB, which, to me, says they’re all in on running the ball. That’s great for the linebacker-turned-running-back.
Caden Durham, LSU Tigers
He was relatively unknown before last week, but Durham wound up leading the Tigers in rushing in Week 3 and also put up 2 scores. UCLA comes to town now, and they’ve looked about as bad as UCLA has looked in recent memory. The value here for CFB DFS picks is great for Durham – IF he ends up being an integral part of the LSU offense again.
CFB DFS Lineups: Wide Receivers
Brennan Presley, Oklahoma State Cowboys
A third OSU Cowboy? That’s right, and I’m going right back to a familiar face in Presley! He has yet to NOT score in a game this season and has also collected at least 7 catches each time out. I said before that I like this game to be high scoring, and if it is, I expect Pressly to once again be heavily involved as he has been all 2024.
Andrew Armstrong, Arkansas Razorbacks
Armstrong missed the season opener but hasn’t let that stop him from dominating. Through two games now, he’s garnered 18 receptions for 301 total yards. The only thing he’s missing is the all-important stat – touchdowns! He’s got a solid shot at snagging one in Week 4 versus a weak Auburn team, making him a good play for CFB DFS picks..
Brant Kuithe, Utah Utes
Kuithe hasn’t had a performance like his 3-touchdown game in Week 1 since, but he remains a focal point of the Utah offense. He got back up to 68 receiving yards last week, just one shy of what he had in Week 1, and is a dynamic weapon in the red zone. The Utes will need to score against Oklahoma State, and Kuithe could very well benefit from the game script here.
Elijah Badger, Florida Gators
I absolutely love the value here with Badger in Week 4 CFB DFS picks. Eugene Wilson III remains out for the Gators, which propels Badger up the depth chart even further. With Wilson III out in Week 3, Badger compiled a stat line of 5-94-1. Florida hasn’t been good, but neither has Mississippi State, meaning this could be a prime spot for Badger to pop off.
Avery Boyd, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
This one is more of a dart throw as Boyd is rather touchdown-dependent. What’s encouraging though is that he caught 4 passes for 56 yards last week and was solid even despite scoring. As he seems to be becoming more and more a part of the Yellow Jackets’ gameplan, it might be a good time to snatch Boyd at his low price while you still can.
