CFB DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Playbook & Schedule: October 5th

This week’s CFB DFS picks highlight the thrilling matchups scheduled for October 5th, with a host of electrifying games on the horizon.

Let’s explore the latest CFB DFS projections and strive to enhance our impressive performances as we take on Week 6!

CFB DFS Lineups: Quarterbacks

Jalen Milroe, Alabama Crimson Tide

Arguably the Heisman frontrunner at this point, Milroe played maybe the best game of his entire collegiate career last week. Oh yeah, and it happened to be against the Georgia Bulldogs. He accounted for nearly 500 total yards and 4 total touchdowns to prime himself for this matchup against a Vanderbilt defense that ranks 126th (OPRK) against QBs this season.

Eli Holstein, Pittsburgh Panthers

Don’t be ashamed if you have yet to discover the greatness that is Holstein. He’s flown well below the radar compared to how well he’s played, tossing for 1,186 yards, 12 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions so far. The Tar Heels gave up 70 to James Madison in their game before last, helping make Holstein one of my favorite CFB DFS picks for Week 6.

Garrett Greene, West Virginia Mountaineers

Greene is a gamer who will do just about anything to help his team win. He puts up solid numbers with his legs but he’s more of a gunslinger who can, at times, be prone to mistakes. When he’s on though, he’s really on. He holds terrific value in Week 6 as the Mountaineers gear up to face an Oklahoma State team that has flown off the rails a bit.

CFB DFS Lineups: Running Backs

Omarion Hampton, North Carolina Tar Heels

Outside of Ashton Jeanty, Hampton has been possibly the best running back in the country this season, living up to the hype he had coming in. He has two separate games of 3 rushing touchdowns and has even seen his receiving numbers increase over the past couple of games (7 catches). The matchup doesn’t really matter; he’s a lineup lock for CFB DFS picks.

Nick Singleton, Penn State Nittany Lions

Singleton, after his Week 5 performance, has now rushed for 90+ yards and a touchdown in 3 of Penn State’s 4 games this campaign. Him and Kaytron Allen make a dynamic 1-2 punch, but he’s the better back of the two. The Nittany Lions go up against a UCLA team that ranks 114th against RBs this season and I’d bet he tops 100+ yards and finds the endzone.

Demond Claiborne, Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Claiborne has been extremely solid for the Demon Deacons week in and week out, with exception to their game against Ole Miss. Luckily, NC State is certainly not Ole Miss. They’re actually one of the worst teams in CFB at stopping the run this season, so look for Claiborne to have another 12+ carry, 1+ touchdown effort.

Isaac Brown, Louisville Cardinals

This one is a bit of a mystery. Brown popped off in Week 1 then disappeared. That is, until facing Notre Dame last week. It looks like the freshman is now atop the RB depth chart for the Cardinals and with explosiveness like his, the more touches, the better. SMU is solid against running backs, but like I said, all it takes is one play for Brown, who even added a receiving TD in Week 5.

CFB DFS Lineups: Wide Receivers

Tre Harris, Ole Miss Rebels

I said it last week, so I’ll say it again: Harris is matchup-proof. You could make a claim that he’s the best WR in the nation and the stats would certainly back that up. Even in a bad matchup against Kentucky where they only scored 17 points, Harris still hauled in 11 catches for 176 and a touchdown, his 3rd time in 5 games in which he’s posted numbers like that or better.

Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State Buckeyes

The freshman phenom continues to dazzle for an OSU offense that can’t seem to stop scoring. They faced their first P4 opponent last week in Michigan State and Smith totaled 5 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Now, up against Iowa, he still should be able to put up numbers as their defense is geared more towards stopping the run than the pass.

Ryan Williams, Alabama Crimson Tide

Speaking of freshman phenoms, what were you doing when you were 17 years old? Because Williams has been absolutely tearing things up at such a young age. He secured the game winning touchdown against Georgia last week, displaying tremendous athleticism while doing so. I’d be shocked if Vanderbilt slowed him down at all.

Jaylin Lane, Virginia Tech Hokies

Lane may not be putting up the most proficient numbers, but he’s staying heavily involved in this offense, scoring a rushing touchdown against Miami in Week 5. He’s now got 2 touchdowns in his last 3 games and faces one of the worst pass defenses in the country in Week 6 in Stanford (290th). I like him as a cheaper option in this week’s CFB DFS picks.

Emmett Mosley V, Stanford Cardinal

Welcome to the stage, Mr. Mosley! He made his collegiate debut last week in their blowout loss to Clemson but definitely stood out. He snagged 7 balls that were thrown his way for 48 total yards and a touchdown. He even toted 2 carries, although resulting for no yardage, which shows that the Cardinal coaches may want to be getting him more involved.
