CFB DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Playbook & Schedule: October 12th

With Week 6 behind us, we’re primed to fine-tune our strategies and ride the momentum as we break down Week 7 CFB DFS projections.

October 12th offers an exciting slate of matchups, packed with potential for high-scoring performances. Let's dig into the latest CFB DFS projections and continue pushing our edge as Week 7 kicks off!

CFB DFS Lineups: Quarterbacks

Jalen Milroe, Alabama Crimson Tide

Everyone in the sports world is aware of what happened to Alabama last weekend, but it certainly wasn’t mainly Milroe’s fault. He had his worst performance from a CFB DFS picks standpoint of the season but still managed 24.4 fantasy points. He’s set up well against a South Carolina defense that just let up 329 total yards to Jaxon Dart in Week 6.

Eli Holstein, Pittsburgh Panthers

If you’re thinking our top two QB options for Week 7 look the same as Week 6, you’d be right. While Milroe wasn’t worth his price last week, Holstein certainly was as he continues to be a CFB DFS star. He’s averaging an insane 35.3 fantasy points per game and has a great matchup at home against Cal.

Riley Leonard, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

If you’re looking to save on quarterbacks, Leonard is a prime option. It was a disastrous start for him this season, but he’s rebounded nicely the past 3 games, compiling over 33 fantasy points per game. The lack of passing touchdowns is a bit worrisome, but he’s made up for it with at least one rushing touchdown in all but one game.

CFB DFS Lineups: Running Backs

Desmond Reid, Pittsburgh Panthers

I’ve been on Reid all season and he’s finally getting the respect he deserves being priced as the top RB on DraftKings. Sucks for us, but there’s no reason to stop riding him at this point. He’s put up at least 33.6 fantasy points in all but one outing this season. Look for him to touch paydirt at least once against a Cal defense that allowed 3 rushing touchdowns last week.

Kyle Monangai, Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Monangai had his most unproductive outing of the season last time out, but if you watched the game, he wasn’t exactly put in the best position throughout the game by his coaches. Wisconsin is surrendering 136.8 rushing yards per game, and I expect Monangai to return to form with another 100+ yard, 1+ touchdown performance.

Demond Claiborne, Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Welcome to the limelight, Mr. Claiborne! He’s been highlighted a few times throughout these CFB DFS picks articles, including last week when he erupted for 136 rushing yards and 3 total touchdowns. Clemson was stout against FSU against the run last week but allowed 230+ to Stanford their game prior. I’m definitely willing to slide Claiborne into lineups yet again.

Tawee Walker, Wisconsin Badgers

The name of the DFS game is to find value. That’s exactly what we have here in Walker. Former Badger starting RB Chez Mellusi has stepped away from the program, which has thrusted Walker into this main role in which he’s thrived. He’s averaging 5 yards per carry with an increased workload his last couple of games, which includes 5 touchdowns as well.

CFB DFS Lineups: Wide Receivers

Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona Wildcats

McMillan has seen the epitome of boom or bust so far this season. His DK fantasy points totals, starting with Week 1, are: 67.4, 3.1, 27.8, 11, 26.1. He’s undoubtedly the top receiver in this Wildcat offense, but BYU has been solid against the pass this season. He’s always capable of putting up another monster number, but at the same time, you have to understand these trends.

Denzel Boston, Washington Huskies

On the other end of the spectrum is Boston, who has been as steady as they come in 2024. On paper, last week was his worst matchup to date being shaded by Michigan CB and projected first round NFL Draft pick Will Johnson, but Boston still had a stat line of 5-80-1. That marks 8 touchdowns on the season for him, now facing a less-dangerous Iowa secondary than in years past.

Xzavier Henderson, Cincinnati Bearcats

I like Henderson a lot in his Week 7 matchup against UCF. The Knights just let Florida QBs Graham Mertz and DJ Lagway complete 23/27 passes for 229 yards, and those two aren’t necessarily known for their arm prowess. All evidence points towards the Bearcat offense being able to sling it all over the field, and when that’s the case, Henderson is typically the focal point.

Ja’Corey Brooks, Louisville Cardinals

Talk about consistency, eh? Brooks has between 24.1-30.1 fantasy points in each of his last 3 games. He’s averaging nearly 100 yards per game on the season to go along with 6 touchdowns, and I have a hard time believing that Virginia will be able to slow him down. Even when Louisville’s offense has struggled overall, Brooks has still produced when looking at it through the lens of CFB DFS picks.

Isaiah Bond, Texas Longhorns

In games that Bond scores a touchdown, he’s managed at least 19.6 fantasy points in each outing this season. In games he doesn’t, he’s put up no more than 9.5. He should be able to hit the endzone in this one as Oklahoma has struggled to contain opposing WRs. Bond also has 2 carries on the season each resulting in 25+ yards, including one for a touchdown.
