Now in its second big week after an exciting Week 1 is the 2024 college football season. There weren't many surprises, but several games ended much closer than we thought, like Fresno St. vs. Michigan.

Last week helped us see what to expect from some teams this season when we make CFB DFS picks. It's important to remember that Week 1 can be tough for college teams considering they don't have a preseason like NFL teams do, but that’s part of the fun!

CFB DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Playbook & Schedule: September 7th

With Week 2 here, it's time to share my best CFB DFS picks! In this article, I will focus on CFB DFS projections for the games happening on Saturday, 9/7, considering the lack of matchups on the Friday slate.

There are a few games that are especially important, so let’s dive into my next round of CFB DFS picks for this Saturday!

CFB DFS Lineups: Quarterbacks

Cam Rising, Utah Utes

The veteran looked just like that in Week 1, tossing for as many touchdowns as he had incompletions (5). Baylor should definitely be a step up in competition from Southern Utah, but honestly, that may be a good thing. It gives Rising more time to put up numbers instead of being sat.

Taylen Green, Arkansas Razorbacks

Arkansas’ offense was absolutely humming out of the gates last week, totaling 70 points in large part to Green’s play. Between the air and the ground, he compiled over 300 total yards to go along with 4 touchdowns. He just may be matchup-proof from a CFB DFS projections standpoint.

Billy Edwards Jr., Maryland Terrapins

I planted my flag for the Billy Edwards Jr. takeover in 2024, and he didn’t let me down last week. He tossed for 2 touchdowns and 311 yards while also adding 39 yards with his legs. This week, I love the matchup coming against a Michigan State team that probably would have lost in Week 1 if FAU had competent QB play.

CFB DFS Lineups: Running Backs

Ollie Gordon II, Oklahoma State Cowboys

The off-field issues from this past offseason certainly didn't affect the play of Gordon in Week 1. He touched the ball 31 times to total almost 200 yards and 3 touchdowns overall. He is the piece that makes this OSU offense go, and even during weeks where the matchup may not be great, the sheer volume that he gets is enough to warrant putting in lineups.

LeQuint Allen, Syracuse Orange

Another player featured in last week’s article, Allen had a pretty solid game to open up the season. He was able to get into the end zone while racking up nearly 125 all-purpose yards against a solid Ohio team. This week's matchup isn’t as appealing, but Allen is the feature back for an Orange offense that looks to be on a mission.

Roman Hemby, Maryland Terrapins

Another Terrapin enters out CFB DFS picks for Week 2 with Hemby toting the rock out of their backfield. Besides his contributions last week and what we saw he was able to do, just like with Edwards above, I’m a fan of this matchup for Hemby against an MSU defense that will face their first road test of the campaign.

KayRon Lynch-Adams, Michigan State Spartans

Sticking with the Michigan State vs. Maryland game, let’s look at the other side of the equation. Nate Carter was expected to be the lead back for the Spartans, but it was Lynch-Adams who made the most of his opportunities in Week 1 and looked like the much better runner overall, averaging an insane 11.2 yards per carry.

CFB DFS Lineups: Wide Receivers

Colston Loveland, Michigan Wolverines

How about a tight end to lead off our CFB DFS picks for WR, eh? Loveland is a wide receiver who lines up at tight end, essentially. I don’t love the matchup, and I don’t love the QB options in Ann Arbor. However, the best TE in America will command targets no matter what and was easily their go-to target in Week 1.

Barion Brown, Kentucky Wildcats

Like the Wolverines above, Kentucky didn’t toss it all that much last week, but they didn;t need to in their route of Southern Miss. Still, Brown garnered the most catches of all Wildcat receivers and even scored twice on just 4 receptions. I’m liking his CFB DFS projections this week as he should be even more involved against a South Carolina team that looked rough in Week 1.

KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Auburn Tigers

All of the Auburn receivers got nearly the same number of looks last weekend in their drubbing of Alabama A&M, but I’m quite intrigued by Lambert-Smith. The former Penn State WR had a solid season a year ago and appears to have a solid connection with QB Payton Thorne right away. Facing Cal this week is also a good sign.

Tai Felton, Maryland Terrapins

Another position group, another Maryland player. And another player that was listed in last week’s CFB DFS picks. I’ve talked about why I like the matchup enough already, but the chemistry between Felton and Edwards in Week 1 was clear. He recorded 7 catches for 178 yards and a pair of scores.

Trebor Pena, Syracuse Orange

For Syracuse to beat Georgia Tech on Saturday, they’ll need Kyle McCord to be on point. And if he is, it’ll be another big day for Pena, who had 2 touchdowns and 78 yards and 6 catches last time out. Something to also factor in is the fact that Pena doubles as their punt returner as well, leading to a few more opportunities to put up points.
