It seems like just yesterday we were gearing up for the start of the 2024 college football campaign, but here we are.

Week 10 has arrived already, and the CFP picture is starting to take shape, though it almost certainly will look different by end of season than it does now. With each game, the stakes rise, and there are plenty of matchups in Week 10 to capitalize on.

My CFB best bets nearly profited last weekend thanks to a plus-money winner, but the 2-unit loss really hurt. Nevertheless, we’re getting back on the right track, and I feel great about my Week 10 CFB predictions!

Ohio State vs. Penn State Prediction: Saturday, November 2nd

Week 10 is obviously highlighted by the pivotal OSU vs. PSU showdown in Happy Valley. Both ranked inside the top 5, it’s needless to say how important this game is. Not just for this season, but for both head coaches. Fan bases on both sides feel like Ryan Day and James Franklin need to perform better in big games, and one of them is guaranteed to do so this weekend.

The Buckeyes enter being banged up on the offensive line while the Nittany Lions are unsure if QB Drew Allar will play. No matter what happens with either, this one should come down to the wire in a hard-fought defensive battle. Both units have some of the best numbers overall in the country this season with PSU being especially good at home (9 PPG allowed to Big Ten opponents).

The Buckeyes offense was looking like a well-oiled machine up until about a game and a half ago, but it’s clear from their Week 9 win against Nebraska that something is just not right. They struggled mightily to run the ball and, if they can’t run against the Cornhuskers, they won’t be able to run against Penn State.

The Nittany Lions get the benefit of playing at home of course too in one of the most raucous environments in the nation for opposing teams. The spread is at a key number here as well, and I’m willing to bet that, even if PSU doesn’t come out on top, they keep it within reach.

Florida vs. Georgia Prediction: Saturday, November 2nd

Next up for Week 10 CFB best bets we have one that always has major hype each and every year, but it’s been a game dominated by the Bulldogs in recent memory. That could change this year though, as this is absolutely not the same Florida team that was trotting out there to begin the season.

They’ve covered the spread in 4 straight games, including on the road at Tennessee, and look much more complete. QB Graham Mertz is now done for the year, but 5-star freshman DJ Lagway has performed well in his absence. He’s now got some experience under his belt, so if he can limit turnovers, the Gators should be in a good spot.

Georgia wound up with a 15-point win over top-contender Texas their last time out, but Carson Beck looked terrible in that one tossing for 3 INTs. They were forced to rely on their run game, and it worked, but it hasn't worked much all campaign (95th in rushing yards per game).

The Bulldogs have also failed to cover the spread as favorites in each of their last 5 tries. They can even be dominant to some degree and the Gators can still wind up covering; whatever winds up happening, I just think the margin of defeat will be within a couple of scores.

Texas Tech vs. Iowa State Prediction: Saturday, November 2nd

While the previous Week 10 CFB best bets both focused on underdogs, I’ll finish them out by laying the points. And on a fairly big favorite, too. But let me get this out of the way to start: the only way possible for Texas Tech to even sniff a win in this game is if Tahj Brooks goes crazy.

He’s certainly capable of it, and we just saw RJ Harvey do so against the Cyclones last week, but I see the Red Raiders being completely one-dimensional in this one. Iowa State ranks 2nd in the country in passing yards allowed per game at just 133.7, and TTU QB Behren Morton was banged up in their loss last week.

He’s reportedly good to go and will start, but it’s hard to imagine he’s 100%. Texas Tech certainly can’t rely on their defense. That unit has been one of the worst in the nation and have allowed 35+ points in 3 of their last 5 games. Put that up against an offensive unit for ISU that is as balanced as they come, and that’s not a great recipe for Red Raider backers.

The Cyclones’ last game against UCF was their first time all season falling to cover against an FBS opponent, and I believe they’ll get right back to doing what they’ve been doing all season long in this matchup.
