Well, we’ve made it to Week 12 of the college football season – already. With the matchups coming up, this slate is set up to deliver, with playoff berths and conference championships hanging in the balance.

In the Big 12, the race for the conference championship intensifies, with six teams locked in a fierce competition as they gear up for critical games. The spotlight will shine brightly on the SEC as 7th-ranked Tennessee takes on Georgia at 13 in a showdown from Sanford Stadium, a clash that could redefine the conference dynamics and influence the College Football Playoff landscape.

With the selection committee poised to finalize the 12-team playoff in just a few weeks, each and every spot becomes more and more coveted with every week that passes. That said, let’s get into our CFB best bets for Week 12!

CFB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets: Saturday, 11/16

If you haven’t yet, please read the intro to my midweek CFB predictions. What I said there still reigns true today as I can’t seem to stop thinking about how poor of a week last week’s CFB best bets were – and the last few weeks, really.

It’s made these articles harder and harder to produce, at least confidently, but the season isn’t yet over. AKA, there’s still time to make winning CFB picks. So, let’s dive into my Texas vs. Arkansas prediction, ULM vs. Auburn prediction, Arizona State vs. Kansas State prediction and more.

Texas vs. Arkansas Prediction: Saturday, November 16th

The focus of this weekend for most fans, and certainly SEC fans, will be on the Tennessee vs. Georgia game, like we mentioned. However, don’t sleep on the game in Arkansas.

Texas enters as heavy favorites as, aside from the UGA game, they’ve looked dominant all season. But their schedule has certainly helped. Other than the Bulldogs, the Longhorns’ toughest opponent has been… Vanderbilt? And in that one, they only came away with a 3-point victory.

I think this Razorbacks offense could give UT some trouble as they’re 5th in the country in total yards per game at 483.4, showing balance in the process. Arkansas’ defense will probably give up some points, and that’s expected, but look for the Razorbacks to do just enough to keep this one within striking distance.

We’ve already seen them beat a good Tennessee squad at home this season, and Texas has covered the spread just twice in their last 5 games. These things lead me to believe that Arkansas can get the job done and deliver for our CFB best bets.

ULM vs. Auburn Prediction: Saturday, November 16th

The over on an Auburn game? You bet! Coming off a bye, this is a perfect spot for the Tigers offense to get right. They’ve moved the ball well all campaign, it’s just the points that have been tough to come by.

Now, they’ll face a ULM defense that’s allowed 28+ in 3 straight games. And those were all to Sun Belt Conference opponents. As bad as Auburn has looked at times this season, the sheer talent on the roster should be more than capable of at least matching what SBC foes have been able to do against the Warhawks.

On the other side, while the Tigers defense has been their bread and butter, ULM is good enough on offense to at least put up a couple of scores, one would think. They’ve amassed 17+ points in all but 2 games this season including 5 straight. In addition, the over has been the result in 4 straight games for the Warhawks.

The total has gone over for Auburn just 3 times on the season, but all 3 times came when they were at home. Whether it winds up being close or a blowout, the point total is just set too low for our CFB best bets to not take advantage of.

Arizona State vs. Kansas State Prediction: Saturday, November 16th

Let’s keep the above trend going to round out our Week 12 CFB best bets! This is an intriguing matchup between two solid teams that should make for a competitive contest. And, in my opinion, a high-scoring one.

Both offenses are averaging over 30 points per game and both are ranked inside the country's top 30 in rushing yards per game. While the defenses have solid numbers on the season, they’ve been slacking a bit recently.

ASU has allowed 30+ points in 4 of their last 6 games, while KSU let up 27 to Kansas a few weeks ago and 24 to a putrid Houston offense in their last outing. The Sun Devils are a much better offensive attack than the Cougars, so if they can score 24, so can Arizona State.

Each team has dynamic playmakers on their respective sides of the offense in Cam Skattebo (ASU) and Avery Johnson (KSU), so look for them to both take over. And I’ll leave you with this: the over is 3-1-1 in the Sun Devils’ last 5 games and has also hit in back-to-back contests.
