Another wild week in the NFL is wrapping up with some incredible fantasy performance, more injuries and the week’s past waiver claims all coming through for those fantasy owners.

Let’s dive into what we just saw!

Be Thankful for Justin Herbert

If you drafted Austin Ekeler and Keenan Allen that is. In Week 1, with Tyrod Taylor under center we saw Ekeler with just ONE target while Allen had just four catches for 37 yards on eight targets. Facts are clear, Taylor is not a fantasy friendly QB. Herbert however, well, he is proving to be just that. In the two games with him under center Ekeler has amassed 15 targets in the passing game, including 11 in Week 3. Allen has 29 targets over the past two weeks with a ridiculous 19 targets against the Panthers in Week 3. It’s clear the rookie QB has what it takes to be under center and though the team is 0-2 with him at the position, it is great knowing he is bringing fantasy relevance to this Chargers offense.

Josh Allen …..That Is All

This feels like a bit reminiscent of last year when all off-season everyone panned the passing ability of Lamar Jackson and then he came in and proved to everyone that not only can he throw the football but he can be a great downfield passer while putting up elite rushing stats. Coming into this year Allen hadn’t posted a season with better than a 58.8-percent completion percentage and only had yet to throw for over 300-yards in a single game. Through three games this season he has yet to post a completion percentage below 68-percent while throwing for more than 310-yards in each game which included 415-yards against the Dolphins. Allen on the season has 10 passing touchdowns with just one interception. Oh yeah, he also has two rushing touchdowns on the year as well, as he continues to be an elite red zone touchdown vulture. Week 3 was the test for me as to whether or not Allen was the real deal as he faced a tough Rams defense and he passed. Dare I say it? The Bills are finally for real.

Who Made Russell Wilson So Angry?

While Josh Allen is off to an amazing start to his season the clear MVP front-runner is the man in Seattle. Wilson has FOURTEEN passing touchdowns through three games this season….Let that sink in… Ok, good. He has thrown for 925 yards while completing 76.7-percent of his pass attempts. Wilson should have another touchdown if not for DK Metcalf’s mental lapse that resulted in a clear walk in touchdown turning into a fumble through the end zone after he was chased down from behind. If you think that there is no way Wilson can continue this type of play you may be mistaken as the Seahawks face the Dolphins and Vikings over the next two weeks. Good Luck!

Why??????

More injuries hit fantasy owners in Week 3 with the likes of Diontae Johnson, Tarik Cohen , Chris Carson , DeSean Jackson , Dallas Goedert , Russell Gage , Jordan Reed , Bryan Edwards, John Brown , Chris Godwin , Mike Williams and Michael Pittman all suffered injuries that took them out of the game. What a list…2020 continues to bite hard.

Michael Thomas Should Sit Out More Games

Is what I would want if I am an Alvin Kamara owner right now. Kamara is playing at another level right now and it’s hard not to assume it’s because Thomas is on the sidelines. Over the past two weeks with Thomas out of the lineup Kamara has 22 catches on 23 targets for 234 yards and two touchdowns. In Week 3 he carried the ball just six times for 58-yards but caught 13 of 14 passes for 139 yards and two scores which included a ridiculous 52-yard catch and run on a screen play where he broken about 10 tackles.  Kamara told all of us this offseason that he was healthy and ready to roll on that appears to be very true. Given the injuries to the top backs we could very well see Kamara as the RB1 to end the year.

Nick Foles to the Rescue

Over the first two weeks of the season the Bears offense was anemic and fantasy owners were looking to rid themselves of their skill position players with Mitch Trubisky under center. Well, Trubisky was pulled in Week 3 and Foles led the Bears to a comeback against the Falcons, throwing for three touchdowns which went to Allen Robinson , Jimmy Graham and Anthony Miller . Is Foles really going to bring these Bear receivers to fantasy relevance? We shall see but at least it is a step in the right direction.

The Handcuffs Came Through

If you lost Christian McCaffrey or Raheem Mostert s in Week 2 then you likely found yourself on the waiver wire looking to Mike Davis , Jerick McKinnon or Jeff Wilson in an effort to replace some level of the fantasy production that was lost and lucky for you they all did just that for their fantasy owners. Mike Davis carried the ball 13 times for 46 yards and a touchdown while adding eight catches on nine targets for 45 yards and yet another score. Eight catches 91 total yards and two scores is very CMC-esk if you ask me. In the two games where Davis has replaced McCaffrey he has 16 catches on 17 targets. In the 49er backfield McKinnon carried the ball 14 times for 38 yards and a touchdown while adding three catches on four targets for 39 yards. Wilson totaled just 15 yards on 12 touches but also ran for at touchdown while adding three catches on three targets for 54 yards and a second score. FAAB money well spent.
