Ben Williamson drove in four runs in the Mariners’ rout of the Marlins on Saturday.
Williamson continues to impress, and he has a new career-high in RBI with the four Saturday evening. The pair of hits now has him slashing .310/.356/.429 on the year, and he’s been excellent with the glove as expected. He doesn’t have much power, but Williamson’s bat-to-ball skills make him someone to keep an eye on in formats with a shallower pool.
Chayce McDermott will serve as the 27th player and start the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Twins.
McDermott will be making his second career MLB start in the second game of the twin-billing. The 26-year-old missed the first month of the 2025 season with a lat strain, and it seems likely that he’ll be on a limited pitch/inning count for this contest. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere.
Juan Soto is not in the starting lineup against the Pirates.
Soto has started the first 43 games of the season, but the Mets will give the star slugger a Wednesday off in the finale against Pittsburgh ahead of Thursday’s day off for the Mets. Jose Azocar will be the right fielder while Soto rests.
Jaguars signed TE Quintin Morris, formerly of the Bills, to a one-year contract.
Morris is purely a blocking tight end. He caught just 15 passes during his three years with the Bills, though he did manage to find the end zone three times. Morris will back up Brenton Strange in Jacksonville.
Gunnar Henderson went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in a loss to the Twins on Wednesday in the first game of a doubleheader.
Christian Vázquez hit a three-run homer to help the Twins to a 6-3 win over the Orioles in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday.
Jhoan Duran hurled a scoreless ninth to get a save Wednesday against the Orioles in the first game of a doubleheader.
