Amador got on base with a single to lead off the third inning and stole second for his first steal of the season. He then slugged his first career home run, taking Hunter Greene deep in the fifth. Amador later drive in a run with a double in the ninth. The 22-year-old second baseman is getting his shot to play with Ezequiel Tovar and Thairo Estrada on the injured list, though he’s hitting just .214/.290/.393 with ten strikeouts over 32 plate appearances.

However, Hall also walked three batters and struck out just one in the outing. The good news is that his fastball velocity was back up around 94 mph, and he had the elite vertical movement that we’re used to seeing when he’s healthy. He also threw 50 pitches in the outing, so even though the Brewers have discussed bringing him back as a multi-inning reliever, he could easily transition back into the rotation if he’s built up to around 60 pitches. He’ll need to get his command in order first.

He walked three, struck out four, and threw just 49 of 87 pitches for strikes while allowing three home runs. While Sproat impressed in spring training, he has a 5.85 ERA through eight starts in Triple-A with a 26:26 K:BB ratio in 32 1/3 innings. He seems to have been firmly passed in the potential call-up pecking order by Blade Tidwell and Nolan McLean.

The 26-year-old has posted a solid 3.86 ERA in 11 2/3 innings out of the bullpen this year, but has had success working as a traditional starter at Triple-A, with a 2.21 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 18:2 K:BB ratio in 20 1/3 innings. He is valuable organizational depth for the Red Sox, so they’ll hope this isn’t serious.

Sauer will be capable of working multiple innings, but the 26-year-old won’t be able to go deep enough to qualify for a victory unless the Athletics are incredibly aggressive against the right-hander. He won’t be a quality streaming option for Thursday’s bullpen game against the Athletics.

Ohtani hit a no-doubter to lead off the game for the Dodgers and it bumps his homer total to 13. He’s been remarkably — and surprisingly — good in the month of May, and he’s now slashing .341/.442/.818 over those 48 at-bats in that timeframe. There’s a long way to go, but a back-to-back MVP season is well within reason, even if he doesn’t return to the mound in 2025.
