Eagles selected Virginia Tech EDGE Antwaun Powell-Ryland with the No. 209 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Ryland’s ability to get to the quarterback is what really stands out, recording 16 sacks and just one season alone. That ranked third in the country. At 6-foot-3 and 258 pounds, Ryland showcases a ton of upper body strength. In 2024, he recorded 48 total pressures, with nine QB hits and 25 hurries. As a run defender, Ryland is a bit inconsistent. There are times where he isn’t as active with his hands and he’ll get beat in those one-on-one battles. He also has short arms, which can effect him on certain plays against the run. Overall, Ryland is a very exciting player to watch. He’s a true pass rusher who can make noise off the edge. He became the first Hokie since 2005 to record 10 or more sacks in a season. He’s not a very polished run defender, but he is a nice mid-round prospect a team would love to have.

Royals signed LHP Rich Hill to a minor league contract.

If you were born before Feb. 20, 1983 but after March 11, 1980, there might again soon be a major leaguer older than you. At age 45, Hill will attempt another midseason return to the mound after a rather sour experience with the Red Sox last year. If he pulls it off, he’ll be pitching for his 14th different team in his 21st season in the majors. Hill is 90-74 with a 4.01 ERA in 248 starts and 138 relief appearances since debuting with the Cubs in 2005.

Yankees activated INF DJ LeMahieu from the 10-day injured list.

LeMahieu played second base exclusively on his rehab assignment, suggesting that he was coming back to start over Jorbit Vivas in the Yankees infield. However, the team figures to pivot after the unfortunate Oswaldo Cabrera injury and use either Vivas or LeMahieu at third, with Oswald Peraza also seeing some time there. LeMahieu went 12-for-27 with one homer in his nine minor league games. It’s unlikely that he’ll offer fantasy value outside of AL-only leagues.

Yankees placed INF Oswaldo Cabrera on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left ankle.

There’s no timetable yet for Cabrera’s return, but it’s obviously months away. The infielder suffered a fracture on a non-contact play while scoring on a sac fly last night. He was hitting .243/.322/.308 in 122 plate appearances this season.

Lions offensive coordinator John Morton said it’s “going to be a breakout year” for Jameson Williams.

Morton said he’d never “been around someone that fast,” then quickly corrected himself to note that Jhamyr Gibbs is also that fast. Williams came on strong last year with a 58/1001/7 receiving line, but offensive coordinator praise could mean even more targets are coming. It would likely come at the expense of Amon-Ra St. Brown’s production if Williams were to truly break out, though there’s plenty for St. Brown to give and still be a top-flight fantasy wideout. It’s risky to read too much into statements like this in the offseason, but the new offensive coordinator telling you he thinks it’ll be a breakout year for Williams is certainly noteworthy.

Free agent CB Rasul Douglas is visiting the Seahawks on Tuesday.

It’s been a slow offseason for the veteran corner after a rough year with the Bills where he finished with just a 51.6 PFF coverage grade. The Dolphins have reportedly been in contact with Douglas, but this is the first known visit for him. He’d likely fit as a depth piece in Seattle, perhaps one that pushes Josh Jobe for a starting job outside in a best-case scenario.

Jets signed fourth-round WR Arian Smith to a four-year contract.

The good news for Smith is that he has a lot of depth chart runway. Garrett Wilson is the obvious No. 1, but neither Josh Reynolds nor Allen Lazard qualifies as a locked-in WR2 at this stage of their careers. Smith’s blazing speed has intrigued Aaron Glenn, who noted how fast he was in rookie minicamp over the weekend by simply noting “Arian has some juice.” The tough news is that as long as Justin Fields is the starter, it’s hard to believe he’ll be seeing many deep shots that aren’t schemed wide open. Still, Smith has some appeal in deeper leagues and could make an interesting dynasty stash.
