NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said that the Raiders are “discussing” whether to draft Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders in the second round.

Rapoport adds that Geno Smith “is the starter,” and that Smith is “willing to mentor a young quarterback” and “help Shedeur Sanders take advantage of his talents.” Rapoport also counts the Steelers and Saints as being quarterback-needy teams, saying the Steelers could draft Sanders in the third round, but that the Saints “feel” like a team that could draft Louisville QB Tyler Shough.

Gleyber Torres went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Monday, leading the Tigers to a 14-2 rout of the Red Sox.

Torres took Red Sox starter Tanner Houck deep in the opening frame for his fifth big fly of the season before tacking on a run-scoring single as part of Detroit’s nine-run explosion in the third inning. He reached base safely in each of his four plate appearances before being lifted from the one-sided contest in the sixth inning with the Tigers leading by nearly two touchdowns. He’s off to a phenomenal start this season in his Detroit debut, hitting .304/.375/.482 with five homers, 24 RBI and four steals through 29 games.

Wilyer Abreu belted his 11th home run of the season on Monday in a loss to the Tigers.

Abreu broke up a potential shutout by launching his 11th big fly of the season against Tigers starter Jackson Jobe to lead off the sixth inning, which represented Boston’s lone run of the one-sided contest until the final frame. It was his lone hit in four at-bats. He’s gone deep five times in his last eight games since May 4.

Jackson Jobe recorded a career-high seven strikeouts and allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings on Monday in a win over the Red Sox.

Detroit’s offense supplied Jobe with a more than a touchdown and an extra point’s worth of run support by the conclusion of the third inning, which enabled him to cruise into the middle innings. He took a shutout into the sixth before Wilyer Abreu connected for a solo homer and was lifted with two outs in the frame at exactly 100 pitches (61 strikes) after issuing his fifth walk of the contest. The 22-year-old top prospect turned in one of the more bizarre pitching lines of the year in an effectively wild outing where he struggled to throw strikes, but was able to generate 15 swinging strikes. He’ll bring a respectable 4.32 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 27/20 K/BB ratio across 33 1/3 innings (seven) into a road tilt on Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Tanner Houck was obliterated for 11 runs over 2 1/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Tigers.

Unreal. Houck failed to record a strikeout and was battered for a staggering nine hits, including homers by Gleyber Torres and Trey Sweeney. He also handed out three walks, just for good measure. It was the second time in nine starts this season that he’s allowed double-digit runs. The latest meltdown leaves him with a calamitous 8.04 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 32/17 K/BB ratio across 43 2/3 innings (nine starts). He’s radioactive for fantasy purposes and simply can’t be trusted when he takes the ball on Sunday against Atlanta at Fenway Park. At this point, there’s a decent chance the Red Sox elect to keep rookie Hunter Dobbins in the big leagues and ship Houck to the minors once Walker Buehler (shoulder) is ready to return next week from the injured list.
