Bryce Harper went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored, and two walks on Wednesday against the Giants.
Harper briefly tied this game up in the fourth inning with his two-run blast after his Phillies trailed 4-0 before the first inning was over. That was all they would get though, as the Giants’ bullpen held them in check. Still, this was one of those quintessential Harper games where it felt like there was simply to way to get him out. He could make an impact for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues, especially if he’s playing regularly at DH, which makes him worthy of a speculative pickup. The biggest development for fantasy purposes here is that emerging star Pete Crow-Armstrong will continue leading off for the Cubs for at least a couple extra games.
Jhony Brito underwent UCL surgery with an internal brace procedure last month.
Brito will miss the remainder of the season and most likely a significant portion of next season as well. The 27-year-old righty made a career-high 26 relief appearances last year for San Diego.
