Ezequiel Tovar went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three RBI on Sunday as the Rockies triumphed over the Athletics.

Tovar singled in the opening inning, swiped second base and then came around to score on a two-out RBI single off the bat of Kris Bryant. He then added an RBI double in the second inning that increased the Rockies’ lead to 5-2. Tovar also doubled in the fourth and scored on an RBI knock by Ryan McMahon. He finished his day with a two-run single in the eighth inning that made it a 10-4 ballgame. With the four-hit effort, the 23-year-old shortstop is now hitting .282/.300/.436 with zero homers, four RBI and one stolen base to open the 2025 campaign.

Brewers signed OF Eddie Rosario to a minor league contract.

Rosario will head to Triple-A Nashville as extra organizational depth for the Brewers. The 33-year-old journeyman outfielder has gotten into five games this season between Los Angeles and Atlanta.

Red Sox recalled RHP Cooper Criswell from Triple-A Worcester.

Criswell provides Boston with some extra long relief depth for the next few days and figures to factor into their pitching plans this weekend against Atlanta to fill Tanner Houck’s vacant rotation spot. The 28-year-old righty has been hit hard in three relief appearances this season at the highest level.

Red Sox placed RHP Tanner Houck on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 13, with a right flexor pronator strain.

The fantasy ramifications are pretty straightforward. Rookie sensation Hunter Dobbins will keep his spot in Boston’s rotation with Walker Buehler (shoulder) coming off the injured list next week to take Houck’s vacant spot. It’ll likely be a bullpen game or spot starter taking the ball on Sunday against Atlanta. The 28-year-old righty will get some time away from the spotlight to attempt to put things back together from a mental and physical standpoint after struggling to a calamitous 8.04 ERA through nine starts to open the season.

Sam Hauser (ankle) is available to play against the Knicks in Game 5 on Wednesday.

Hauser missed Games 2-4 after injuring his ankle in Game 1 of this series. With Jayson Tatum (Achilles) done for the year, Hauser could be relied on to play extended minutes as Boston looks to keep its season alive.

Moises Ballesteros is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s showdown against the Marlins.

Ballesteros retreats to Chicago’s bench after going 0-for-4 on Tuesday night in his big-league debut. It’ll be Carson Kelly at DH on Wednesday night. The 21-year-old backstop doesn’t have much of an avenue to regular at-bats, since he’s mostly limited to DH duty due to his lackluster defense, but he should continue to get opportunities for the next couple weeks. He’s worthy of a speculative roster spot for fantasy purposes, especially in deeper formats.

Harrison Bader was removed from the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Orioles

It sounds like merely a precautionary exit, but it’s a situation fantasy managers should monitor. The 30-year-old outfielder left the second game of Wednesday’s twin bill following a third-inning ground out. He finished 1-for-2 with an RBI before departing. He’ll presumably undergo further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the issue.
