It was an impressive performance from Birdsong, who figures to make San Francisco’s season-opening roster in a versatile multi-inning relief role. The 23-year-old former top prospect struggled last year over 16 starts in his first taste of the majors, but it’s easy to envision his stuff playing up in shorter bursts out of the bullpen. He’s an interesting late-round sleeper candidate in extremely deep mixed leagues.

Ramos was one of the few hitters who had any offensive success against Merrill Kelly in a game where the GIants were held to just one run by Kelly and the D-Backs’ bullpen. The three knocks ups his average to .290, and he’s been on fire in the month of May with a .400/.472/,800 slash over his 30 at-bats in that timeframe.
