Despite the lack of contact, Berggren went through a full practice after he suffered an undisclosed injury during the Red Wings Prospect Tournament. “I think he’s moving towards being able to take contact,” coach Jeff Blashill said. “He said he felt really good, so we’re hoping that he can move into the full practice in a regular jersey and then potentially try to get him into a game or two.” The second-round pick and 33rd overall in 2018 will likely start at Grand Rapids as he missed too much time to show what he was capable of in training camp.
