Swayman turned in a respectable performance, but with Boston's offense largely dormant on the afternoon, the 23-year-old netminder needed to be just a little better. It was not to be. Swayman allowed a Teuvo Teravainen goal late in the first period to put the Bruins down 1-0 into intermission, and the Boston ship never quite righted from that point on. Swayman would go on to give up a pair of Max Domi goals in the second period as Carolina lengthened out to a multi-goal advantage, before posting a scoreless third period. While any Game 7 loss is bound to rattle, Swayman can look back on a 2021-22 campaign in which he posted a sturdy 2.41 GAA, .914 save percentage and 23-14-3 in just his second year of NHL action. He has a bright future ahead of him.

Swayman will make a fifth straight start following a 23-save performance in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Hurricanes. He has a 3-1 record with a 2.51 goals-against average and .913 save percentage this postseason. 

Swayman got some help from the officials when a quick whistle negated the opening goal of the game from the Hurricanes. The 23-year-old settled from there and will continue to take all the help he can get as he has powered the Bruins to a do-or-die Game 7 matchup set for Saturday. This has been an incredible back-and-forth series.

Swayman stopped 33 of 37 shots in a 5-1 loss to Carolina in Game 5. He's 2-1 with a 2.68 GAA and .911 save percentage in three postseason starts this year. If the Bruins lose on Thursday then they'll be eliminated from the playoffs.
