Marco Rossi

Rossi has played in the past two games for Minnesota, which included his NHL debut on Thursday against Boston. He had five shots, one block and one hit. The Wild also sent Hunter Jones and Kyle Rau to the minors, while moving Matt Boldy and Andrew Hammond to the taxi squad. 

Rossi and Matthew Boldy, who is also expected to play versus the Bruins, were added to the taxi squad on Tuesday. Rossi skated between Kevin Fiala and Marcus Foligno during Tuesday's practice, while getting work on the power play. Rossi has seven goals and 23 points in 21 contests with Iowa of the AHL this season. 

Last season was a tough one for Rossi who was selected ninth overall in 2020 after a 120-point season in 56 games for the Ottawa 67s of the AHL as he contracted COVID and had a case of myocarditis which put his career in danger. He currently has three goals and 11 points in nine games with Iowa and has played in all situations. “For me, it’s just important that I play as much as I can right now. Now I play every game, I think more than 20 minutes, like 20 to 25 minutes and that’s the best I can get right now. I play every night so many minutes, power play, penalty kill,” Rossi said. He is worth having in dynasty leagues and should be a star in the NHL in the not-to-distant future.

Rossi was selected ninth overall in 2020 after an outstanding season with the Ottawa 67's where he had 39 goals and 120 points in only 56 games during the 2019-20 season, leading the OHL in points. But last year was a disaster as he has complications from COVID-19., resulting in him missing the entire hockey season after being diagnosed with myocarditis in January 2021. This is a recovery season for Rossi who is now 100 percent and looking good.
