Anton Lundell was thrilled with his rookie season for the Florida Panthers.
The 20-year-old made the Panthers out of training camp and ended the campaign with 18 goals and 44 points in 65 games. He managed to play in nine post-season games and saw limited action as he had only one goal but overall he was happy with his season. ”When I came here, I didn’t expect very much,” Lundell said after the Panthers were eliminated from post-season play. “I had just one goal and that was to get a spot on the roster. I didn’t think this season would go as well. It was a great season for me and for the team too. We played some unbelievable hockey and it’s a season we will remember.” Look for bigger and better things next season from Lundell who was selected in the first round, 12th overall, in 2020.
Anton Lundell will draw into the Panthers' lineup for Game 4 on Monday.
Lundell had 18 goals and 44 points in 65 regular season games. His role in the playoffs has been limited through. He's played in eight postseason contests while averaging just 11:28 minutes of ice time. He's been limited to a goal and no assists over that span.
Anton Lundell will be a healthy scratch Sunday according to coach Andrew Brunette.
Lundell saw only 4:07 of action in Game 2 and nothing after the opening period so this was no surprise. Lundell has a goal in eight games and this will be the first game he sits out in the post-season. He will be replaced in the lineup by Maxim Mamin.
Anton Lundell logged just 4:07 of ice time in Game 2 against Tampa Bay on Thursday night.
Coach Andrew Brunette explained on Friday that it was a coach's decision and it wasn't injury related. Lundell has one goal and three shots in eight contests this postseason.
