Jason Robertson scored 41 goals this season and still wants to get better.
“Just get to the middle of the ice more,” Robertson said during exit interviews two weeks ago. “Shooting is what it is, but putting yourself in a position to score more goals is actually where it is, or where it’s all from. Obviously, one thing I can work on is a one-timer. I don’t think I had any one-timers this year. I was more catch and release. I’ll work on that this summer, hopefully become a one-timer threat next year.” Robertson is due a big raise as he will become an RFA once the playoffs are over and there is a huge demand for players who can score 40.
Jason Robertson was back on a line with Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz in Game 6.
Coach Rick Bowness made the move midway through the first period with outstanding results as Dallas had a 19-6 shots attempt advantage during 5-on-5 play as well as 12-3 in shots on net, 12-1 in scoring chances and 5-1 in high danger chances according to Natural Stat Trick when the trio were on the ice. “You see those first couple shifts, [Robertson] was into it,” Bowness said. “When he’s into it, get him back with those guys. The chemistry is there, there’s something special there. Let it go.” Robertson had an assist Friday to give him a goal and three points in six playoff games.
Jason Robertson scored a goal in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Calgary Flames in Game 5.
After a stretch of play that was mostly dominated by Calgary, Robertson was the benefactor of a fortunate bounce off the leg of a defender to open the scoring in the second period. The goal didn't faze the Flames as they jumped right back on the horse and went to work. This was Robertson's first goal of this playoff campaign.
Jason Robertson was alongside Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin during Wednesday's morning skate ahead of Game 5 against Calgary.
Robertson played with Benn and Seguin midway through Game 4 on Monday. It looks like they could start Wednesday's game as a combination as well. Robertson has one assist and 12 shots through four postseason contests.
