Bowen Byram set up Nathan MacKinnon for the Avalanche's first goal Sunday in a 2-1 Stanley Cup clinching win.
A great ending for Byram as the 21-year-old had a tough season dealing with post-concussion issues. Byram ended the playoffs with nine assists in 20 tough Stanley Cup playoff games and was a plus-15 for the Stanley Cup champs. Byram has a great future ahead of him as he was drafted fourth overall in 2019. He had five goals and 17 points in 30 regular season games and expect 45-55 next season if he can remain healthy.
Bowen Byram earned an assist in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in a 4-3 OT win over Tampa Bay.
Byram also posted two shots, two hits and two blocks in 22:37 of ice time on Wednesday night. At 21 years, two days, he became the youngest player in franchise history to record a point in the Stanley Cup Final. Byram has eight assists, 32 shots, nine blocks and 30 hits in 15 games this postseason.

Byram has done a great job for the Avalanche while filling in for Samuel Girard, who suffered a broken sternum in Game 3 of Round 2 against the St. Louis Blues. Girard won't return this postseason. Byram has collected six assists, 16 shots, nine hits and four blocks in seven playoff contests since Girard was injured.

Byram has really come into his own during the playoffs as the 20-year-old has been trusted by the Avs to take a regular shift as part of their second defensive unit. Byram played 19:38 Saturday, third most among Avalanche blueliners. He is also a plus-12 which is good enough for a tie for third place in the NHL with teammate Cale Makar. He is a stud in the making and should be drafted in the later rounds of shallow pools next season.
