Toronto has signed Pierre Engvall to a one-year, $2.25 million contract.
The two sides avoided a potential arbitration hearing by agreeing to a new deal on Sunday. Engvall will get a $1 million raise from his previous two-year, $2.25 million deal. He had 15 goals, 35 points, 154 shots and 66 hits in 78 games last season. Engvall will be eligible for unrestricted free agency after the 2022-23 season.
