Ryan Lindgren played through an ankle injury during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Lindgren said on Monday that he was initially injured in the final regular-season game. He missed three contests during the opening round of the postseason with what was initially referred to as a lower-body ailment. Lindgren played for the remainder of New York's playoff run, which ended in the Eastern Conference Final. He posted two goals, three assists, 24 shots, 41 blocks and 30 hits in 17 contests.
Ryan Lindgren scored the Rangers' only goal in a 3-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 5 on Thursday.
Lindgren's goal was the first of the game, but the Rangers weren't able to build on that early edge. He has two goals and five points in 16 playoff games this year.
Ryan Lindgren is "pretty close to healthy now," according to Rangers coach Gerard Gallant.
Lindgren briefly left the Rangers' game against Carolina on Monday after sustaining a lower-body injury. He returned to the contest and went on to play on Wednesday and Friday, but he hasn't been 100%. It seems he's getting closer to full strength though, even as he continues to play for the Rangers.
Ryan Lindgren is on the ice for the pregame warmups and he is expected to play in Game 2 against Tampa Bay.
Lindgren has been banged up throughout the postseason, but he has missed just three contests. He has four points, 19 shots, 30 blocks and 20 hits in 12 games during the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Lindgren is slated to play alongside Adam Fox again in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final.
