Roope Hintz didn't play in Game 7 against Calgary on Sunday because of an oblique injury.
“We thought he was going to play. He has an oblique injury, he just had a reaction to the treatment," said coach Rick Bowness following the team's overtime loss. "We had to pull him.” Hintz was a late scratch for the contest.
Roope Hintz (upper body) was a late scratch for Game 7 on Sunday against Calgary.
Hintz didn't take part in the morning skate, but he was on the ice for the pregame warmups in his regular place on the top line of the Stars. Unfortunately, his absence wasn't announced until after lineup locks.
Roope Hintz produced one goal and one assist in Friday's 4-2 win over Calgary in Game 6.
Hintz opened the scoring with his second goal of the series at the 14:52 mark of the first period. He also assisted on Tyler Seguin's empty-netter to seal the win and set up a Game 7 back in Calgary on Sunday night. Hintz also racked up four shots, six hits and one block on Friday.
Roope Hintz scored an empty net goal with one second remaining in the Stars 4-2 win over Calgary.
It was the first goal of the playoffs for Hintz who had a great regular season with 37 goals and 72 points in 80 games. It was also his first playoff point of the season but there could be plenty more if Dallas upsets Calgary as they are up 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.
