The Vegas Golden Knights have re-signed Brett Howden to a one-year contract worth $1.5 million.
Howden was not offered a qualifying offer but came to terms with the Golden Knights. He was stretchered off the ice on March 24 after going head-first into the boards and never returned to action, finishing the season with nine goals and 20 points in 49 games. He will play as a bottom-six forward for Vegas next season.

The Golden Knights also made Jack Dugan, Benjamin Jones and Dylan Ferguson pending unrestricted free agents after not giving them qualifying offers. Vegas tendered qualifying offers to Nicolas Hague, Keegan Kolesar, Jake Leschyshyn, Brayden Pachal, Jonas Rondbjerg and Nicolas Roy ahead of Monday's deadline.

Howden has been out since Mar. 24 when he left a game against Winnipeg on a stretcher. He is currently listed on long-term injured reserve.

Coach Pete DeBoer said that nothing is broken for Howden, but he is feeling sore and he is probably going to be sidelined for a while. A timetable for his return is currently unclear.
