Jakob Chychrun could end up staying with the Arizona Coyotes, according to General Manager Bill Armstrong.

"We’re always taking offers if it’s something that’s going to better our team," said Armstrong. "We’ll make those calls at the draft or any other time afterwards, but right now he’s going to come back and play for us and we expect him to be a big part of our team." Trade rumors surrounded Chychrun during the 2021-22 campaign and it was thought that he could be moved during the offseason, but that may not be what ends up being the case.

Jakob Chychrun was asked if he'd be okay if he wasn't traded this summer and he responded with "I don't know."

"I'm signed for 3 more years," Chychrun added. "The trajectory of where the team is going and a lot of that stuff is important to me. I want to be in a position where I'm getting to play a week from now, not packing up." His name did come up in trade rumors at the deadline, but he ultimately wasn't moved. Chychrun had seven goals and 21 points in 47 games this season. There should be plenty of interest this summer, but the Coyotes have already shown that they're willing to hold onto him if their asking price isn't met.
