Artturi Lehkonen has signed a five-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche.
The deal has an average annual value of $4.5 million. Lehkonen generated 19 goals and 38 points in 74 games with Montreal and Colorado last season. He was a restricted free agent after finishing a one-year, $2.3 million contract.

It was a great trade for the Avalanche that brought Lehkonen to Colorado from Montreal as the winger ended up with eight goals and 14 points in 20 games. The goal was a bit controversial as Lehkonen knocked it down with what looked to be a high stick before putting in the rebound of Mike Smith but it was eventually ruled a good goal that ended the series. Lehkonen also had a pair of assists to give him six goals and 11 points in 14 playoff games this season.
