Doughty missed the final 24 games of the regular season and all seven playoff games after he underwent wrist surgery. He said it was a tendon tear and he would have pushed to play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs had the Kings had a deep run.

"It's a little early to say," said Kings GM Rob Blake on Monday when he was asked if Doughty could miss the rest of the season. "I think we'll exhaust every option possible. I mean, he's out there skating now but not participating in drills and things. That'll be an assessment with the doctor in the next few days to understand the next step to see if he can come back and play." Doughty hasn't played since Mar. 7 due to the ailment.

Doughty suffered an undisclosed injury on Mar. 7 versus Boston and has not played since, and is on the injured reserve list. The injury could figure in what the Kings will do come Monday's trade deadline time. Stay tuned. Doughty has seven goals and 31 points with 99 shots, 53 blocks and 60 hits in only 39 games this season.
