Verhaeghe, who was listed as a game-time decision going into the contest after he left the morning skate early, is on the ice for the pregame warmups. He took line rushes with Aleksander Barkov and Claude Giroux. 

Verhaeghe left the morning skate early. Coach Andrew Brunette said the issue is "similar" to the one that made the Panthers forward a game-time decision prior to Game 6 of the opening round versus Washington. Verhaeghe was able to play that night. 

What a passed few days it has been for Verhaeghe. He capped off Game 5 with a five-point night and he ends up being the hero in overtime in this one after converting a sweet feed from Claude Giroux. Verhaeghe came into this game labelled a game-time decision after missing the morning skate but he didn't skip a beat in this one. He'll get a few days off to heal his bumps and bruises and he'll start the second round having scored six goals and picking up 12 points so far in the playoffs. The Panthers will face the winner of the series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Verhaeghe was considered a game-time decision after missing Friday's morning skate. Not having him in the lineup while looking to close out this series would be a huge loss for the Panthers, especially after Verhaeghe exploded for five points in Game 5. He'll skate on the top line alongside Sasha Barkov and Claude Giroux.
